I recommend you go to the Turnbull Asser store on Jermym Street or Old Broad Street in London.
"Aiyah Panerai, buay beh liao eh lah."

WTB your Kevin, Ted Su, Wotancraft, Piotr or Simona Straps for 24 mm and or 26 mm width and at least 80mm by 140mm length or larger. Want To Buy Panerai 168, 196, 213, 253, 308, 332, 519, and 654 and other Panerai Chronographs and AP ROO's.

Custom is the way to go if you can find a good tailor. I just ordered 2 from my favorite spot. 85 each. The best part is customizing everything down to a bigger cuff on one side for your watch.

You may want to consider Thomas Pink.

T and A isn't always pattern matched. Thomas pink usually is. Hilditch and key are also pattern matched.

For inexpensive shirts I really am liking Charles Tyrwhitt. Fabric not the best, but def worth 30 bucks a shirt.

Got a nice tie from Charles Tyrwhitt on Jermyn, think Ill take a gander down there and T and A next time I swing by Selfridges to have a look at some watches. Who knows maybe Daniel Craig will be in there for his annual fitting?

For the price I like Charles Tyrwhitt and also TM Lewin.
Too many reps... This is more costly than a drug addiction.

So, in the airport lounge, departing london.
I ended up striking luck on Jermyn St
    - New & Lingwood (6 Shirts) - Currently a sale 3 shirts for 125 pounds.
    - got one in T&A - 65 pounds I think, reduced from 95. Additional shirts were 45 pounds each, but I didnt get the love here - seemed very up-themselves to be honest.
    - I got 5 TM Lewin Shirts for 105 pounds total.

I got some good deals at Harrods too:
    - Ralph Lauren Belt (1 black / 1 Brown) 28 pounds each, reduced from 185!!
    - Ermenegildo Zegna/Ted Baker/Other brands reduced from 95-280 to 10-30 pounds.
    - dress shoes from Harrods which were on sale (lower ground) ended up with four pairs.

That much reduction at Harrods? Sure it's not stock left over from the nineties?
    Just kidding, good deals.

Decent sale at Charles Tyrwhitt now.

US use XANU for $20 off
    UK use CT15off

However, UK prices are cheaper Than US

Just placed an order. I don't know my size so ordered slim fit. Weird how extra slim fit has a 44" chest size for 16" neck

I just hit this link and no worrying about sales or 4 for whatever price they are running at the moment. www.ctshirts.com/elvis

Love CT shirts, I have been a customer over 10 yrs

We call it self distance in Sweden. It's a good thing (Just would be nice if more Swede's had it )

On topic: Ralph Lauren have nice Slim fit shirts and the "cheaper" lines are (compared to the rest of the world) damn cheap in USA.
I never recommend anyone to shop for shirts online though. (Hard to find a nice fit). And of course Turnbull & Asser's nice but I mean it's like recommending Kiton or Brioni for suits when asked about budget alternative.

In Sweden we have Eton and Stenströms that are premium shirts and defo nice! But more like 150 USD /piece
Eton mqkes great shirts, non iron and cool patterns, more like $260 per shirt in the USA though

Actually Turnbull and Asser (not Assner daytonadragon ) ... doesn't have great pattern matching. I bought a couple of their shirts and was disappointed by the cut as well. Too much ballooning ... I prefer Hilditch & Key much more than Turnbull & Asser. The cut is modern (maybe made for enormous texans?), the shoulders and cuffs are pattern matched, much better construction and excellent fabric. T and A shirts end up looking like bargain basement rejects honestly. Pricing is similar between the two, so for a little bit more than CT and BB etc, I've found H&K to be my go to.

Lol I just realized I'd posted about this higher up in this thread. I just bought two new shirts and was impressed, which is why I came back to this thread ... doh.

When you start going into $120+ a shirt you are better off getting custom made shirts in HK. Pick the material and get measured. And come back in a few days to pick them up.

That's true, nothing like Sams in HK, but i'm only over there once a year or so (and haven't gone at all recently). Sometimes you have to fill the gaps. I used to fill it with macy's or lord and taylor or whatever was at the mall. But happy to find other options. If you can make a trip to Sams though, its tops.

IMHO Tunbull Asser are the best shirts, especially when you have them custom made.

Even bespoke T&A shirts aren't pattern matched. I'd expect more craftsmanship.

What do you mean by pattern matched. Turnbull Asser makes ties to match their shirts.

Pattern matching is a technique which uses more material and more time as well as more difficult seams, which results in fabric patterns matching at shoulders, collars, cuffs, etc.

Once you wear pattern matched shirts it always catches your eye when someone's shirt isn't pattern matched. The overall symmetry and flow of the garment is totally different.

Now I know what you are referring to. Based on my custom tailor Turnbull Asser shirts I own - they are pattern matched. Some of the off the rack Turnbull Asser shirts that I have bought recently are not pattern matched.

All of the off the rack T and A shirts are non pattern matched. Your custom tailored shirts are likely not pattern matched as you didn't know what pattern matching was and it's generally a specific request when you get measured there at the store on Jermyn. If you ordered custom shirts from their website or by phone then they are not pattern matched. Generally T&A is overrated and that's what i've found after buying several of their shirts.

Stick with Sams for bespoke, and for off the rack TP and H&K are better choices.

When I was a medical student, TM Lewin and CT were already a stretch for my budget, but they would always get positive comments from the stylish female attendings and residents. Hell they're still all I can afford. CT material is probably slightly nicer, but I like the fit of TM Lewin better. That reminds me of the things some of my classmates used to wear...plaid shirt with light blue khakis and a cotton tie no socks and deck shoes. I used to think "this is medicine not a hipster parade."

I find TP to be way overpriced and the quality mediocre. BB used to have more american made shirts and that were worth the premium; now I see those are mostly fat fit or oxfords. The made in Malyasia non-iron slim fit don't feel as good as the old ones did. BB is definitely a staple amongst the older attending physicians and they definitely appreciated a conservative look. and it's not that expensive on sale. I'd still stick with the $30-40 on sale CT/TML because I look silly in fat fit. I've picked up a bunch of BR non-iron shirts on clearance + coupon for $5-15. These are hard to beat, because at that price you don't have to worry about getting them dirty in the hospital. Much better quality than express.
