    Default Hello everybody

    Hi,
I'm very new to rep watches. My first was a beginmariner from josh. Nice looking piece but the date set was having issues (not working) so josh is in the process of correcting my concern (so far good customer service from him, that keeps me from getting upset about my first new outa the box rep with an issue lol)
But thats not what I'm actually posting for tonight.

I really like the black sub look, but its a bit more than a casual watch IMO, and Im wanting another watch to wear with just a plain t-shirt. You know, a nice casual watch.
I've got some fossils and other things to wear for the occasion, but I just want something new.
Unfortunately I cant seem to find what I'm looking for.
    I want:
    something around 40 mm
a light color bezel, preferably white or silver
I want a brushed stainless band, not polished
I like the chrono look, but they do not need to work. I prefer they dont, tends to keep the price down lol
I like automatics more than quartz but doesn't need to be eta, again, I prefer they are not ETA to keep it cheap lol
I really want a tag for this, but I can not find one with the band/clasp I want
And here is the kicker, I really really want a double deployment push button realease, butterfly style clasp.

I'm not against making *this* watch the way I want it, meaning I dont care if its not offered exactly like this from the AD. This being said, I'm not a watchsmith nor am I familiar with modifying watches but I may be able to take on some smaller tasks with it (like a band swap if possible?)

If anyone knows of a watch like this, or can point me towards some info on making different stainless bands work with different cases, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks
    Brad

ok the standard welcome and salutations.

josh will do right by you! nice first rep i too gave up my rep virginity to his LV beginmariner and very happy with it.

taking what i've learned and sharing it with you ...

you have to read read read and then ask your questions ... read some more ... make an educatied choice for a rep, select a dealer, order, wait for delivery (just like waiting for christmas eve to get and open presents), get delivery, decide its a keeper or not (offer to sell to me) and most important POST YOUR PICTURES OF YOUR WATCH!

    i did say welcome right?!

hm.. i dont know anything about tags

but.. I think a good starting point would be

    (sorryr jiro, stole your photo)

    light bezel, check
    brushed bracelet, check
chrono look, check (i know they make faux chronos of this model)
    auto? check
    non eta? check
    tag? nope
butterfly clasp? sadly, i dont think so?

so i fail, but that is what came to mind immediately to me..

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes!
Trust me I've been scowering the forum (and most of the suppliers websites) until the wee hours of the morning and still havn't found just what I'm looking for.

roflwaffle, that is a very nice looking watch and has been one I've been considering even though it lacks the butterfly clasp. thanks for the suggestion.
Sadly all the butterfly clasp watches I've been finding are pretty highly polished, and thats just not my thing for what I want it for.

If I decide to go with out a butterfly clasp, I think its gona be between these:
    http://www.timeshops.net/Tag_Heuer_L...ic_SS_1205.htm
    or
    http://www.pc-80108.com/tg10024-link...to-p-1888.html
    or
    http://www.trustytime88.com/index.ph...roducts_id=538

Some I've found with a butterfly clasp that I like (but are too polished):
(this meets hardly any of my 'criteria' lol)
    http://www.timeshops.net/Luminor_Pan...eserve_551.htm

and this one is pretty close, plus I like longines. The watch face is a little busy, but not annoying. Plus I like the font and texture appearance on the dial. Problem is, its just shiny lol.

    Take care,
    Brad
