    Default Bling Bling coming soon!

Hello, New to the forum and really enjoying it! Holding down the Mid Tennessee area right now but moving to FL soon. Looking into owing some rep watches for several reasons and this site is way cool. I’m a furniture builder and contractor by trade so taking a rep and adding the real deal upgrades is quite intriguing. Mane influence for owning reps would be my interests. I’m big in to sailing, jungle trekking, skin diving, SCUBA, and surfing. So quality is needed for the diving but I’m often worried about being robed. My last watch to be stolen was a titanium Citizen and I’m pretty sure it was airport circuitry that took it out of my pack. Id rather own several way cool watches and loose a few to hotel maids and street thugs in Mexico than own one awesome watch and be heart broken to loose it. So hello every one and thanks for awesome past posts that hopefully will save me some $$ that I can spend on trekking.

I'm not real sure I'd use a rep for diving; their waterproofing isn't known as the best in the world.

Default But I want an aquarium on my wrist…

I’ve got a designated SCUBA set up that works.. It’s not so easy on the eyes though. IE rubber band etc. Not even sure of the brand.. It’s in a pack some where. so rep will go skin diving and trekking with me. I’m looking in to an actual TAG for SCUBA also but I’m not willing to lay down the $$ for any thing else that could lead to a 5 finger discount. If you have any SCUBA worthy reps you could recommend though that would be awesome.

I had also looked at the real Omega Planet Ocean ro the seamaster professional chronograph but if any one knows of a rep that could hold up at 90 ft (I just sport dive) than Id consider it but I’m a little leery of being down there and trusting some guy in Asia.. Taiji had a good review of the Omega SMP Chrono and lead me to believe that it could very well hold up for me. I’ll put in the time and make many good choices on watches im sure but when it comes to diving.. well thats to be decided

    what cork means is...

*never* trust a rep diving where you'd actually ever rely on it for your life.. EVER.

get a cheap dive computer, or a cheapie quartz dive watch...

reps are for cosmetic purposes only.. and... 90ft... its *real* iffy with a rep. I would say *no* rep out of the box is going to survive more than about 10ft.. most i wouldnt get wet.

send it to a watchmaker and see if it will seal properly.. and even then... still wear a backup watch.

even then, i think most reps are ever only sealed up to 3atm, which isnt going to cut it for you..

Ive spent my whole life in Middle and finally getting down to FL. I've still got a house on the market up there and really love TN but the water is calling! Worked in Franklin, Bentwood , & Murfreesboro. Good luck to you to bud!

Roflwaffle, Thanks for the info! Not dying from something like no air would be high on my list of things to avoid so I hear ya. Prob just going to grab a TAG or something like that for diving and grab some reps for travel and daily bling got to love the Omega, Good enough for bond is good enough for me!

Welcome dude glad you found us, make yourself at home. Dive with Seiko, the Monsters are nice, or a suunto...Gen Omegas can be picked up used for not to much as well, but never ever dive or risk your life on a rep, no way ever no how. When you hear more about the "factories" reps are assembled in.... (usualy a back room in a dirty apartment somewhere in the bowels of China), and you see some of the problems we have keeping them ticking in this little hobby of ours..... you'll know appreciate what we mean when we say never never never trust a rep with your life. Diving, Flying etc...

Welcome to RG your gonna love this place!

Welcome to RG your gonna love this place!
Was just looking at a seiko and a citizen actually and the look like a good fit. going to pare a good dive watch with a good new dive computer. (found some new dive computers on amazon). I would skin dive in the rep if any thing but with that info i'll just stick to the gen in the water. I love tinkering so the rep sound like to much fun! I actually have a Invicta that ive been skin diving with and it's great. It is my don't rob me watch for traveling that ive used lately.

Hope every one is having a great evening and it's good getting to know every one!

    ¡hasta mañana!
