Thomas Pink is my choice. LV group, and great online service.
I recommend bespoke shirts. There are quite a few tailors that travel across North America and the world to offer a wide range of options. It's not as expensive as you may believe and the fit is great if you're build isn't "off the rack".
Hugo Boss shirts are reasonably priced and are pretty durable. Canalli, Armani are great but are a different price point.
One thing I've learned is that really high end fabrics, and that goes with suits too, look and feel great but wear out really fast. Some custom shirts that I had made in Italy look like I just played rugby in them at the end of the day.
double post
i remember seeing a post a long time ago about an outfit the traveled around the US taking measurements, and the shirts, slacks, suits were made in china for pretty cheap...anyone got more info on this?
Tailor make it:
http://www.tailorstore.com/
Ive ordered about 50 shirts from here, great place once you get your customs size right.
Can't go wrong with brooks brothers
Too many reps... This is more costly than a drug addiction.
TM Lewin shirts from my experience are not very durable at all.
Charles Tyrwhitt is a better option in a similar price range, but as mentioned Turnbull and Asser are on another level in terms of quality and fit.
I would be interested to find out where you found a good deal on Turnbull and Asser shirts bobkat.
I'm pretty keen on non-iron Banana shirts but I wish they had more diversity in their collars. The trick is to know the sizing conventions. They have XS, S, M, L, XL ... XS is only available online and not really worth it as its really really skinny.
Now here's the kicker, each size has 3 sub sizes. Classic, slim and tailored slim. Thats in order of biggest to largest. I have a feeling that the smallest of one size and the largest of the next can be quite close so there's some overlap but the cut isn't 100% the same. Things like the neck and cuffs can differ but because of all the sizes you can pretty much find something fitted to your body without going to a tailor unless you've got a really odd shaped body.
If you're decently fit I would start with the medium tailored slim and small slim.
For the price range quoted, Thomas Pink would be my choice, followed by Tyrwhitt. Lewin has some weird collar cuts (for me), and don't seem to last as long. Pink does great ties too.
I wear Theory in Medium. Sometimes they can be a bit short, but for an athletic built they work well.
BTW, 6 feet and 180 lbs.
Thanks for the info guys. I'm looking for something new. Here is the US, I have been getting Jos A. Banks.
Not bad for off-the-rack guys like me. 16.5 / 34.
Dave...
Charles Tyrwhitt.
They just had a sale that worked out to be $30/shirt.
You're not going to get cheaper than that.
The quality is amazing. I believe they are Egyptian cotton and the collar stays are brass. Doesn't have the extra stuff like MOP buttons but still great for the price and they fit well.
Hey you fashionistas out there need to post some pics so us fashion challenged have something to go by.
I realize this is a bit of an old thread but custom made shirts are available online now. I've heard good things about proper fit.com, although I haven't used them. Shirts can run around $150 - but it is a perfect fit to you and you get to choose fabric, cuffs, monogram, etc. And if your weight is fairly consistent, they will have your measurements when you want to order more.
Not sure if this helps go to nordstroms site most of the shorts they have Re $55.00 crisp collars
