G'Day Chaps and Chappettes.....
Noob here from the UK.
Always been into nice looking watches. Have 2 originals, an Oris my ex missus bought me and an Omega Seamaster from 1965, left by my dearly beloved father.
As I cant justify spending what the gen manufacturers want, i've often delved into reps. But, Holy Cow, I've never seen anything like this before. You guys take real pride in your stuff, and even modify them as well I see. Hats off.
My first rep was probably bought around 30 years ago, from my then boss who was a bit of a jack the lad type. Thinking back it was a piece of crap really, probably just some no name quartz thing you get free with every gallon, which someone decided to stick a Cartier sticker on. Felt great at the time though. Bought and sold a few as I found them but never any real keepers.
In April this year I made another tour of duty to Thailand with another 8 guys. Bought 2 Panerais. One a Black Seal, and the other one I dont know. They are OK for what I paid for them, but nowt like some of the stuff on here, but nowt like the price either !!. Maybe tempted to sell them to fund a 'proper' Panerai rep someday.
Real name is Stuart, have a partner and 3 top lads. Need to cut off now as I want to read the rest of this forum and learn more about this amazing culture, keep up the good work,
Stuart
