Default Newbie question: Help me pick out a Fliegeruhr

    Hello Gents,

Am excited to have found such a well-educated forum!

I recently purchased my first rep (a Pam GMT from Josh) and am very happy. I'd now like to get a Fliegeruhr, but have read many threads questioning the quality of the Asian 7750 movement.

Joshua's Fliegeruhrs all have the 7750 movement. I do not wear my watches all the time, so I'd like a watch that I can take off for weeks and then shake it up and have it work right away.

Does anyone have any thoughts on his Fliegeruhr? Here is Joshua's.

Alternately, TTK has this Fliegeruhr with Asian 21J movement for a great price of $110 (the chronograph is faux, unfortunately)

Does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions? I'm quite taken with the looks of the IWC and would like to purchase a good one, but stay under $300.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I'd go real chrono, unless 21J doesnt bother you.

    Welcome to the forum!

Both watches look nice and have double AR. The biggest diff. as you pointed out is the movement. The new A7750x28.8 is considered a fairly stable movement....most high-end reps these days come with this movement.

Which one to buy....depends on what's your ultimate objective....if you want a nice rep to try out and then move to high end stuf...go with the TTK version. If you want a full function watch (with working sub-dials)...go with Josh.

I have bought watches from both Josh and Neil.....both of them top class.....you can buy with confidence.

    Cheers

I cannot speak directly to the quality of either of the two versions you are looking at, but hypothetically if the fit and finish were the same, I would probably get the 21J. I have a A7750 3717 and I frankly never use the stopwatch function. If I am going to time something I use one of my gens - and seriously, I hardly ever time anything.

So, if all other things are pretty much equal (except the chrono function), go faux, and use the left over $150 to get another rep.

i dont time stuff much either, but I want it to work as intended. I'd get the Josh one, but that's me...
