    Default Credit card fraud experienced

    Hi guys

I joined the forum a couple of weeks back.
Made my very first Rep purchase about 2 weeks back.
My new Noob PAM 372 was purchased from Intime via my VISA credit card.
I am very happy with the watch.

The above experience was however spoilt by $8000 worth of fraud that hit my credit card in the last week or so.
Online credit card purchases have there own risks.
Luckily my banking security protocols kicked in and they managed to block the transactions.
The fraud case is still ongoing.

I just thought that I would give everyone a heads up on the risk.
I have not contacted Ryan yet.
But I will let him know that they need to beef up Infosec on their credit card page.

    Cheers

But how can you be sure it was due to the payment to InTime? I mean you could have spyware or something.
But I think you should also contact Ryan about this indeed just to be safe

The only online credit card purchase that I have made in the last 3 months was from Intime.

This is the first time, in twenty years of owning a credit card, that I have been a victim of fraud.

Maybe it was a coincidence, but I thought I would warn other members of potential risks.

    That is very unfortunate.
I have used my cc with intime and puretime many times with no problems.
    Fingers crossed.

Yeah same with me, I've used my CC with Ryan without any problems.
OP what is the link you made your purchase with your CC payment ?

Best to set up either a Visa debit or low limit credit card when buying via unknown credit processers.

It doesn't stop CC fraud but it limits your exposure.

Even though the banks always cover the fraudulent transactions it does sometimes take awhile and your money is tied up until resolved.

I am pretty new and wanting to get a watch. Experienced users, What is the safest way to purchase online from trusted dealers? Credit cards, PayPal, Western Union? What is recommended or preferred? I was actually looking at InTimeWatch

PayPal is a good option if it's available. For me personally, I have a prepaid card through my bank that I make online transactions with. It's not tied to my checking account. I simply load the money onto it that I need to use, then I make the purchase. That way if the info ever gets stolen it doesn't matter because they can't do anything with it.

I wouldn't assume that it happened there, anymore than anywhere else. Your CC information can be taken by skimmers at the gas station or ATM, or a dishonest server or clerk at in person at a brick and mortar establishment. That is why I have a CC, and do not use my debit card. If someone racks up fraudulent charges on my CC, it is a pain in the butt, but they do not have MY money. While I do take precautions, in the grand scheme of things, it is pretty low on my list of things to worry about.

I recently bought from Ryan. My bank flagged it since it was out of the country. Told them I made the purchase and they released the payment.
No other problems and Ryan @ Intime did a great job

I've always used WU or bank transfer for this exact reason

I have been using transferwise, good rates and some TDs offer discount like WU. Worth exploring.
