Hi all,

Looking to join into this community for two reason. 1. Can’t afford the gen stuff 2. Interested to learn about how to fix / tweak / franken some of the models.

Question for the pros: what watches are the best to start (both for reliable in terms of look and also staying working) ? I’m really partial to breitling or IWC but have read that chrono can be very hard, so wondering if there is a more standard watch without that in any of those lines that are better. Also would be interested if anyone in conus does any meet up groups or has any ones for sale in the SEA/PDX/YVR area

You have a few options:

1. Buy from a RG Trusted Dealer (TD)
2. Buy from a Member to Member (M2M) who is RG VIP and or RG member with high post cost, postive feedback, and reputation
3. Post a Wanted to Buy in the WTB section.

Hi, welcome aboard! The non running seconds at 3 chronos can be problematic. Of the 3 hand watches, the Asian 2824 and 2836 movements are pretty reliable and usually easy to fix. Plenty of tips on here for you if you want to franken a watch. Enjoy!
