Like mentioned above, Japan isn’t the right place to buy replicas. Maybe decades ago, but now? They’re one of the richest countries out there, they’ve got high HDI and GDP per capita, you can find some fine gens out there, reps - not so much.

Maybe post WWII, Japanese industry restarted by copying from brands coming fro other countries, then improved upon the quality. They built up that reputation that after a few decades, the label "Made in Japan" became synonymous with quality. But I don't think they ever got into copying luxury watches though. They do make bulletproof timepieces like Seiko and Casio (G-Shock represent!).Originally Posted by JMS1988
