    Default Saying hi

So guys, I've been on replica watch forums for a month now, lurking, read some things here and there so figured I should register here and introduce myself too.

I'm from Romania. I collected knives, multitools and Swiss army knives for years (and insects and pet fish and stamps and coins and such). I run the gearforedc blog, although not very active lately (new house, new baby, semi-new cheap wife).

I own a gold plated Philip Persio - my first nice watch, a 24k vintage sixties Exactus chronographer - that I inherited, a rather unique Casio G-Shock G-315RL-2AVER, a very pretty (and very heavy) Casio Edifice 5147 EF-550 - which I got from my first paycheck and now I wear a Victorinox Infantry 24695 (with Date only, which is quite rare) as I am a Victorinox fan.

I meant to get a Rolex for years, something to wear both daily and for business, but money was always an issue.

My favourite Rolex ever is the new Cellini Moonphase. I meant to wait for a nice rep but I'm not convinced as noone will believe I actually paid 25.000 Euros for a watch (when my car cost 4.000 Euros) and seeing as I won't be buying a second Rolex soon and I don't think the Moonphase can truly be Frankened I'll probably skip that.

On the other hand, getting a second-hand Oyster / Datejust / Daydate wouldn't be too much a stretch of imagination so I think I'll get a Franken of that (I really would like it to have as many Gen parts as possible, but I do not feel like paying 3000 Euros to get some junk off eBay).

So yeah, lurking the sales section to find a birthday gift for myself (that's in June) a Date/Day or Datejust Franken, with as much gen as possible, preferably 40/41 mm, preferably sunburst, preferably blue, preferably under 1000 Euros and preferably in Europe (customs are a pain). So yeah .. nice to meet you nice, knowledgeable folk and cross fingers I find something nice and not get stiffed ;-)

It sounds as if you have the collecting bug already - not sure about knives though.
Welcome to a less lethal hobby.
