    Great write up P.

I travel a great deal and end up in some fairly extreme areas. I have used Filson luggage your several years now.

This is some of the toughest and most durable luggage I have ever used. Not exactly Four Seasons material, but it can't be beat for durability and quality.

I saw the thread subject and thought, "Hey! I'm a good looking guy, and I'm often on the go..." and sure enough, the thread was right up my alley. Thanks, Posh! If you have come across any good sources for replica briefcases (rather than keepalls and other 'bags') I would LOVE to know about it!

Thanks man, I appreciate the tip... I'll ask Sead.

I like some of Kenberg's stuff, too, but $300+ for some of them??... yikes..

    whooooaaaaa!!!

some of you guys are so stale!

man, you really missed the topic here... and everybody wants to put in some funny sort of " look at me post"....

    what went wrong here?

i read the same thread and thought it was very good....
this is about "travel bags".. for the "man on the go"

    not man purses you ****phobes

you really completely missed the point here.

ohh, you don't want a louis vuitton suitcase or briefcase? but you sure will stick that mont blanc wallet, and pen in places the sun cant get to.. huh? and wear the matching watch.... ok guys

when i worked in downtown sf, la or ny..... i needed something to lug my crap around in. it sure as hell wasn't gonna be a backpack! maybe this doesn't pertain to us all... but don't be so negative about traveling in style fellas, after all do we need to do a wrist check here?...maybe a neckcheck? how many guys wear a necklace?...neck-lace?...hmmmm?

wow... this went straight into left field, huh?

    cheers guys!

Swiss, you can get briefcases from all the companies I mentioned. Of course, you can get some from others as well. Montblanc, Kenneth Cole, Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, Bally, Ermenegildo Zegna or even Banana Republic sells briefcases. This is just some. You have many to choose from.

If you're into logos and being seen, the makers I mentioned have you covered. If you're into going luxe but being stealth, look into more the Bally or Montblanc or any line by Louis Vuitton that is not the Monogram Canvas.

That briefcase, the President Classeur, is extremely popular and can be purchased vintage, for a little over half the value of the bag new, which is something. New, this case is $4,500 and sold out at most all LV locations and completely sold out online. They can never keep this briefcase in stock.

The replicas of this case are out there but I am unsure of the quality. The same goes for the Apache and Robusto. I would suggest contacting one of the replica bag dealers on here and see if they can help source you a GOOD replica of these cases.

Swiss Addict, have you considered the Taiga Taimyr? Or the Taiga Victor? Or the Taiga Dersou? Or the Taiga Leather Viktor Grizzli? Or the Utah Leather Omaha? Or the Taiga Leather Dersou Grizzli? All very professional and suitable for work. Dimer, you may want to consider them too.

Brand new, the President Classeur is sold out everywhere. Could Hayden Christiansen's ad be the cause?

Very informative post. Also very helpful for those of us mandudes that lack style and grace. Now, where can I source these LV beer koozies so I can drink my swill in style...

I haven't brought any rep bags yet, but I was amazed at the quality of them when I was last in Shanghai.

Excellent post and review!! Thank you!! Now, not to spoil the fun or anything, but I am seriously being bombarded by trojans in my temporary internet files when I click on the highreplica.com links. I even entered the site in a separate explorer page and was hit again. Luckily, my McAfee on demand access scan deletes the trojans, but the bombardment keeps me from viewing the products on the website. Is anyone else having this prob??

Woah... normally I have a hard time pulling my eyes off Posh. The new avatar might have made it double-ly so. After all, just LOOK AT THOSE LEGS!!!

But as I started reading, I realize this woman is in a class all her own. I've heard of professional shoppers before, but wondered who is good enough to be worthy of your money? This gentlemen seems to be an example of 4 Aces, and you got it for FREE!!!

Now personally, I've always had pretty simple luggage. Stuff I got as awards from work, or simple quality pieces I've bought on sale. That said, I LOVE the look of a quality briefcase or messenger bag. Can't wait to follow some of the links Posh gave us, and see what I can find.

Think I'd prefer a slightly more understated look. I know lots of people perfer logo bags when they buy LV, Coach, or whatever their favorite brand. But I think I'd prefer classly while slightly less overstated. Will definately have to see what's out there.

Thanks a million babe. You've outdone yourself this time!!!

So I'm looking at the gen LV website, and I like the look of the Taiga Pegase 60 bag. But I looked on Trevors site, and despite having over 400 bags for sale... I didn't see anything like that one.

Any assistance finding a dealer with a great rep price is appreciated.

While I understand peoples allure to LV, the monogram pattern really just tends to make me a bit ill. I really cannot imagine anything more unattractive. It looks like something vomitted out of the 70s..

The 'rolex' comparison seems very fitting. "It isn't about looks, style, or anything like that. there are better products at the same price point made by smaller companies, but damned if they dont sell best because of their name and image as 'youve made it' "

Out of all the ones shown, I'd probably go for:

only without the toolbag look of the guy holding it.

but I imagine in rep form, would just be a total turdfest (anything leather in rep is usually pretty poor, maybe bags are different).

i don't get it....maybe when driving. walking through the mall or downtown with it in just makes people look stupid IMO.

good post, lots of work into this one and very original <-------maybe POW material

can't see myself with the manpurse though, if i need to carry so much crap that a bag is needed, i'll sit down and re-evaluate priorities.

i may upgrade the laptop bag soon. nylon, although functional, just is not cutting it anymore.

Waff, you're right, to a degree, about the pattern. It isn't for everyone. But it helped define the company at it's beginning and now it is a symbol of that heritage. The good thing is since LVMH brought aboard Marc Jacobs all those years ago, you have even MORE choices as fair as patterns, colors and designs to choose from. Everyone was glad the Monogram Canvas Multicolore in white and black came out and actually is a regular product you can still buy. So many LV designs are temporary!

Merk, Jordan, Spekoli and Fathom: thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you liked it. As for those trojans , Fathom, that's a new one on me. I haven't experienced those problems myself. And Spekoli, they are not man purses they are travel cases and battle satchels (I just came up with that!).

Merk, the Pegase replica is perennially a bestseller, for both LV and their people who make the rep of it. I'd try emailing a dealer or site that you prefer and having them source it for you. Make sure they source the good ones and not the Canal St. Special.
