I guess I could afford to buy everyone a real Rolex but they’d have to change to “GenGeek”

A billion you say, not sure if that is Dollars, Euros or Sterling, but hey I’m not going to get picky.
I’d finance the purchase of a rep for every member here. (You see I’m really a nice guy).
At the current count of just under 50k members on RepGeek that would approximate, at an average of 600 (fill in your own currency) per rep, to around 30 million.
That would leave me enough change to buy any gen watch I liked, several in fact – per year.

So you just won a billion in the lottery. What watch do you buy?
Probably a Comex 1665.
Always loved those.

Honestly based on just actual "looks" I have found many watches under 500 dollars that just look fantastic to me. I would most likely go on a microbrand buying spree first and after I got that out of my system I would find a nice gen. Right now I believe I would buy a Breitling Avenger Chrono 'Night Mission" as well as an Omega Planet Ocean. I know many will not agree however personally the very high end 15k watches often do not do it for me visually. I know the tradition, craftsmanship, reliability and prestige is there however again every single gen watch I lust after is usually under 6k and many under 3k.

Alot of today's Billionaires don't even wear fancy watches:
Bill Gates
Elon Musk
Warren Buffet
Jeff Bezos
Personally, I'd just buy a nice Rolex and call it a day.

I never even had Omega on my radar until I purchased a Seamaster rep as well as a Planet Ocean 600m. After wearing both reps I simply have to save for a gen. I believe Omega makes some of the best looking watches out there. I also really have a thing for some of the IWC and Breitling stuff. If I had the cash no doubt I could find many watches to spend it on....kind of an addiction as many of you already know.

Warren Buffett has a yellow gold Day-Date and a quartz Patek Philippe Calatrava. These are fancy watches. Bezos wears a Ulysse Nardin, worth about $10.000. Musk and Gates don't seem to pay much attention to luxury watches.

Bill (Gates) notoriously loves Casio watches, hes not so much interested in luxury watches...and luxury in General it seems ....
Anyway, i dont think we must consider the 'current ' richest list...i mean, look at this article from 2017
These Are the Watches Worn by Some of the Most Powerful Tech CEOs
I was sure that a top guy like Larry Ellison (Oracle Corp) was also a watch enhusiast..
