I am a rep virgin. I only own 2 watches - Casio G-Shock and Seiko Chronograph. I have a hardon for a Planet Ocean chronograph. I can't afford a gen, but i found a site that claims to have gens cheap. Does anyone know anything about watchesshopping.net? I think I might go rep - seems like a good hobby.

Do yourself a favor and buy as many as you can and want, that is the best part of this hobby.
If you are hesitant as to if a watch is right for, buy the cheaper (a21j) version and see how they fit your wrist, and if you fall in love with them, as you will with Panerai, buy a swiss and start modding eventually...pick a grail watch for yourself and make sure you don't stop until you have it on your wrist.
That is the joy of this hobby!!!
And don't forget to ask questions along the way, after all that is why we are all here.
