All forums look similar to the first one...even before RWG 1. I cant remember the name right now but it was about 6 years ago.

Welcome r11co. I agree with Niko. It's not the same here we have a few unique dealers that you cannot find anywhere else. Also, no other forum is running vbulletin

There may be a good reason for this.

I think the reason would be Pug that no one wants to dish out the big bucks to buy it

Also when it comes to forum software they all have their pluses and minuses. I think when it comes to the software that you have to pay such as what we use here and what RWG uses it is a matter of opinion at that point which is better. But I do know one thing for certain that all the free software is garbage

    Just yankin' your chain.

If I could make just one wee suggestionette about the forum, it would be to have a much more neutral theme. The best-looking of all the rep sites is TRC, surprisingly, and that is because it has the cleanest, least obtrusive of the themes out there.

Also, you're using smileys designed for a light background, not a dark one and this shows in the anti-aliasing on them.

Kill two birds with one stone and go for a clean, bright background.

Oh, this is all just my humble opinion, all-be-it one backed up with 12 years of web design and 19 years of graphic design.

PugWash, You are a man after my own heart I spend all my free time after working on the forum here and my job looking for the best themes. The problem is that my tastes are similar to yours. I like light themes and bright colors. But everytime I find that perfect theme I get shot down by other staff It is very hard to please everyone since they all have different tastes. So I compromise with them. I like blues and whites like the default them but no one else does. Oh well maybe one day I will find the right theme that everyone can agree on

Sometimes you need someone to pull rank.

Empower one person, usually the most trained in that area, to make all the decisions on that subject. If not, you're discussing the colour of the bikeshed:

Trust me, if one person is calling for neutral design and everyone else is looking for big and bright flavours of the month, give Mr. Neutral the job deciding the design. At least while everyone is proposing their awesome-o bright designs, the replica-collecting public gets to put their shades away for a while.
