Hello from Vegas!
Just joined the site, looking to get into this as a hobby, like many of you folks on the board.
I have been searching the forums, checking out various dealer's sites, and looking at forum member's collections, and I have got to say, wow, thank god I found this place! Because of you all, any decision I make on purchasing reps will now be an INFORMED decision.
I bought several crappy reps years and years ago while on vacation in Mexico; needless to say they were all extremely crappy.
Then about 2 years ago I purchased what was supposed to be a Breitling Bentley rep from some fly-by-night site that came through my email (I know, I know, stupid me!). It actually showed up and looked decent, but wasn't anything like the pics showed on the website I ordered from. I wore it a few times and it ended up breaking in two places. I left it at that and said F it. Went and bought a gen Movado a month later.
Now I came across a site last week that showed amazing pics of "super reps" made of real titanium and it got me interested once again. Then just yesterday I stumbled across this site. The amount of information you all share with one another is astounding. Already, I can confidently say I am here to stay and share the same information with everyone.
I have 4 reps in my crosshairs to purchase in the next few days:
IWC GST Titanium black dial
Corum Admiral's Cup Titanium black dial
Panerai Luminor Titanium (undecided on exact model)
Hublot Big Bang (undecided on exact model)
I may pick up 2 or 3 of the above, just so I don't begin my collection with 2 that look a lot alike
