    Default New member saying hi!

    Hi folks,

Just thought it would be polite to log in here and say "hi" from a wet and cold south UK.

My obsession with watches led me to repgeek almost by accident but now I'm thinking of taking the plunge. I have only bought genuine so far and have a pretty large collection...but I have to say some of the reps on here look great. I'd better not show my face at Timezone.com ever again!

I hate the sick feeling that you get when you smash or knock a gen watch that cost £$£$£$ so perhaps a really good rep is the way to go for work and stuff. Any suggestions for out-of-the-box models that cut the mustard?

It always takes me a while to buy but when I do I'll post some pics and share my thoughts on whatever it is.

    Cheers

    Simon

Welcome Simon. Many gen collectors in here as well but as you say we like to be able to buy a lot of wtches at small cost. It its in deed sad when you gen is damaged but when a rep is damaged or lost its not that big of a hit.

    Welcome!

I've always been trying to get the best of the best reps myself. See my section for many reviews of them (link in my signature).

That'll get you started I think.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, very nice of you.

Indeed, I went straight to by-tor's reviews. Fantastic!

By-tor - it seems you have a soft spot for the black dial Explorer II, but what do you think is the best? Is it better than a Bkmariner?

    Welcome aboard Simon,

You might find after getting a really good rep that you may feel you have wasted a lot of money on those gens. But, then a bad rep will make you realize why you did.

It's a lot of fun though. Makes you feel like your getting a heck of a deal when one of those real nice ones come in the mail.

Hi Simon and welcom to the forum. Maybe once you start getting some reps you could do some side by side comparisons with your gens.

True kbh, true. I was worried that might happen!

Is it true that I can only purchase a Bkmariner if I become a VIP member? Those watches look great and the donation would be well worth it
