Hello to all. New member from Toronto. This is a fascinating place. I could get seriously addicted to these reps. Want to buy my first rep..it will be a GMT Master II in 'pepsi' colours. If anyone wants to suggest a good TD to buy from, considering my location, I am all ears. Thank you.

Hello to all. This was my new member thread. Now need help and advice please. I bought a GTM II rep from Henry Tswiss on the recommendation of a couple of members here who said he has good product and can ship to Canada ok. I ordered, paid, received it. All seemed well. it stopped working about three hours ago. i can't figure out why. wondering if anyone here has suggestions. I emailed Henry, no response yet, but it has only been a short while, so i am not complaining about him. Will give him chance to help and advise of course. i can't think why it stopped working. I have been wearing it. Doing usual stuff. nothing exciting. It did not get wet. Did not bang it on anything. Anyone have any suggestions? All help appreciated.

Hi, what watch ,movement, auto, manual wind.I dont think he is a trusted dealer here.See what his response is first.BTW all of the trusted dealers here can ship to Canada no problem

Thanks. It is a rep of a gmt II. Auto movement. Not sure which movement. Crown screws down. When unscrewed the first stop adjust date and gmt hand. Second stop adjust hours and minutes.

vendor emailed me back promptly which is good. gave me instructions to send back to china for repair or replacement. He also said that I could try to wind it gently forward or clockwise to see if that might get it going. Did not work.

Sadly I suppose I will have to ship it back to China. Disappointing.

Any more advise would be appreciated.

O.K. I guess you have no way of removing caseback,try gentle shaking,if it doesnt work
You have to choose, fix here in Canada or send back.
I think if I were you I would send it back , hope for the best & if it doesnt work out

Hey. Don't worry I've dealt with Henry for over 5 years now and he's always stood behind his product. I've only ever had 1 broken watch with him which I shipped back and got it fixed free of charge. He'll take care of you, don't worry. Did you manually wind the watch a lot? This could've caused the movement to break.

Nope. Did not manually wind it. Not even sure how to manually wind an automatic watch like this. In hindsight some instructions from the seller as to howto set it etc. Would have been helpful.

I expect to be shipping it back. Thanks gents.

Thanks everyone for their comments. The watch is somewhere over the pacific at this time, and hopefully gets back to the seller ok. He said he would repair or replace it. I really hope it becomes a decently reliable daily wear type of watch. I did not go for a chrono or anything too complex, hoping for simplicity and reliability. Maybe I guessed wrong, or was not lucky. Hopefully there is no war in that part of the world in the next few days, it might inconvenience the shipping of my watch, and others here too! We must keep our priorities straight!

Quick update. Henry T Swiss received my watch, repaired it, and shipped it back. I paid for shipping back to him, and he paid for shipping back to me. The watch is working ok now, for over a week. Seems to have good reserve power, I can take it off for 12 hours or so and it keeps going. I am pleased it is working well. He gave good and proper service, and communication too. Overall I am quite satisfied and the seller stood by his product. Cheers guys.
