    Default My first rep: IWC

    Dear community members!

I was more than new to the topic when I bought this IWC Vintage by a newspaper ad in Nov.

Actually the story is longer: I first bought a Hublot Big Bang Black Ceramic but it being Quartz, I only later realized it would turn out ridiculous to wear it with its' ticking seconds hand.
The Hublot just looked damn good and was totally emotional purchase which I shouldn't have made following salesman's never ending mambo-jambo of terminology that, looking back, he doesn't even know himself the meaning of. So I had a chance to choose a replacement (he obviously wouldn't return me the €250,- !!!) and otherwise nice looking TAG didn't have a working chrono (one working button changed date window!), so I went for this IWC and got a Mont Blanc pen as extra.

It is hand-wound and fortunately less "screaming" for attention. I don't know the movement, "dealer" claimed it is Japanese. Keeps fine time, I really don't care any more if it is 20 or 30 seconds late or early.

It has sapphire on both sides, other than that just stainless steel etc. No indication of +/- precision of course.

I put it up here to have your feedback - what do you make of it?

    Thanks everyone

Hello! Nice piece! I've owned two if the iwc reps you posted in your original. Actually pretty accurate from the front. The movement is Chinese not Japanese. The crystal both front and back is mineral. They put on AR on the front crystal. Back when they were available these were selling from the TDs at about 150 usd. I certainly miss mine!

    Thanks for feedback, Bobkat!
It's good to know finally what it actually is. I don't believe either it being Japanese movement as it isn't that precise and gets kinda stucked when I pull the crown out.
The sales guy really knew how to tell sh_t
I guess we all have our first lesson sometimes. But it's at least alright rep, you should have seen the other ones - total crap.. Literally, no working chronos etc. But the stories told were "true titanium.. 100% replica.. sapphire class.. Automatic movement! (like this was something special already) AAA cat.. i know them personally in Hong Kong.. it isn't easy getting those any more.. if you want more genuine looking movt it's gonna be swiss inside AAAAA cat and cost 800 EURs" bla bla bla...... this guy was so full of it, and so was I for falling for all these "facts"
