    Default Watch Lover from DE

    Dear forum members,

I'm from Germany and my hobbies are records and analog wristwatches.
In my collection I have some Gen watches and some Reps too.
I started collecting watches in the early 90s with a Fortis Pilot watch when they came back into business. I started with a "Fortis Flieger Automatic", ref. 595.10.41, which I still have, bought some Hacher watches via ebay, got a Heuer Aviateur and a 50s Omega watch and a Heuer Monza, ref. 150.501.

One of my friends collected some early Omegas, e.g. a Pre-Moonwatch Speedmaster, and IWCs. Another friend bought a really beautiful Mid 60s Seamaster 300.

In the meanwhile I bought some Reps via Ali**press and D**ate, some of them are o.k., some are just Crap.

So I started searching for high-quality Reps and bought a Noob V7 Submariner 116610LN and a 5514 Comex Replica at first. After getting the Sub serviced I really have a reliable wristwatch that I wear almost every day. Timedrift is ~ -2 - -4s /day, sometimes even better. The watch is also tested as waterproof with 10 ATM (100 m).
No modifications on the watch for now.

At that time I hunted some Rolex Gen Parts on eBay so that I was able to get a mostly gen Sub built by my watchmaker. Parts where a high quality no rehaut case with an excellent aftermarket crystal, used gen 3135 movement, Gen Dial, hands and crown, aftermarket LV bezel insert and a brown leather Nato Strap from Yuki. Some times later I bought a TC sub from a very nice member in Germany and changed the not so o.k. aftermarket LV insert with a blue gen one. It became an amazing watch but will be rebuilt soon to get it all periodically correct.
2nd was a 16000 S/S Franken. Following parts where used gen parts: champagne dial, 16000 case and bezel, black hands and stell crown. I took a serviced Yuki 3135 to put it in that beauty and have a light brown leather band mounted on the watch. Crystal was a high quality plexi crystal. Got the watch in mid April and had it for just 2 days. Somebody has either stolen the watch from my bag or I lost it in Duisburg.

In the meanwhile I've ordered an ARF 904 S/S 116610 LN Sub with SH 3135 movement and got it serviced. This for today is my daily rocker.

But now the fever started. I've bought some interesting parts on RWI and on eBay, enough parts to get some Rollies built.
In the pipeline are right now:
    - A beautiful 16800 Sub, all periodically correct, with an amazing dial and hands set and a brown bezel insert. Movement will be a serviced 3035.
    - A 16622 YM Rolesium with Sean Case, TC bracelet and gen clasp. As Movement I will use a 3135 gen. Dial and hands are also gen parts.
    - A 16803 Rolesor. Dial, Hands, Crown and insert are gen, 3035 Movement too. I will not use gold plated or gold wrapped parts. But this needs a little more time to find a 93153 bracelet and 493 endlinks which will take some time to find.

I also think of franken my 116610 LN from noob. Already bought some gen parts to franken or even superfranken it.
On the other hand I already have gen 16610LV hands and a gen LV insert. Unfortunately dials are really f***ing x-pensive now. Might possibly use a TC LV dial if I get one.

    That's it for now.

Welcome to RG. Reading your post you seem to have a better start than most new members here, and some old ones too.
Good luck with your projects and don't forget to share as they complete.

Just to update you on the 16800 project:

It's gen but the case (incl. Bezel). Periodically correct it would be a '86 or '87 Sub Date. Some Day I will change the 501 Endlinks 'gainst periodically correct 593 Endlinks.
Work has been done by Meister Hora. Kudos to him.
