Hi there from a noob

I'm new to the whole replica thing, and I'm not yet a watch collector, as I've been wearing the same Tag 6000 for almost ten years.

I stumbled upon this site while looking for a watch for my wife. While I ended up getting her a Seiko (gasp), I'm intrigued by the whole rep world.

What I'd likely be looking for to get started is a Daytona SS with brown croc strap for myself, and a Tag Ladies Aquaracer w/ diamonds on the face (or Link, if that's a more accurate rep).

I've seen the warnings about the Daytona's running seconds, and am weighing the options. I noticed that Silix has the seconds at nine with what appears to be a more accurate fold-over clasp with safety on the strap than the rest which have just a fold-over clasp. Did they change the clasp recently to a fold-over, or does Silix have the only accurate clasp?

Anyway, thanks for any help. I look forward to educating myself and making my first rep purchase.

Run forest! RUN! Only joking but before you know it you will have several watches on there way! The daytona is a very nice watch. Regarding the one for the misses there are a couple of very nice lady's reps; Datajust lady, Gucci 1:1 Twirl, Chanel j12, Cartier Tank among other. Check out the "woman's watches" section.

Thanks. I'm definitely concerned that this could become an expensive hobby if my first one turns out like I hope, but everyone needs a hobby.

As for the ladies suggestions, thanks. I've looked around that section a little already. I'll probably stick with the Tags I mentioned just because it's the only nice watch she's ever really wanted.
