Default Dealer Application for Forum denied

    Hi,
Yesterday I recommended a young man I know, that would like to be a dealer , to join the RG forum and learn about becoming a Trusted Dealer.
He tried to join the forum but says he was denied because he is an "unauthorized dealer".

To my knowledge, he has never tried to sell anything on the forum and was just interested in finding out how to go about joining. Why would he be denied access? Until Tuesday he didn't even know about Repgeek Forum. I know he has never done any sales here.

If you tell me the situation I will be more able to explain the situation to him. He is seeking only to learn information about Repgeek to see if he can be a trusted dealer.
    Thank you for your help.

    Regards,
    Paul Jerome.

How would anyone know he was a dealer unless they were told or he has not been completely honest and has previous history in the rep world

    Doesn't make sense

unless he tried to join as a dealer of course

    Hi Paul,

I am talking with him personally via email. With such an active and large membership, we have a very long wait list for vendors chomping at the bit to be a ' RepGeek Recommended Vendor'. The vetting process is important and can take some time.

It is very important to me we provide only the best and most established vendors for the membership, as everyone has a guy or an unknown hook up who only they know of who can provide Grade AAAAA 440 SWISS watches w a 5 year warranty, etc. [not referencing your friend, only making a point]

Please be patient as I work with him through all the questions, logistical issues and potential concerns I have.

Thank you for understanding and being patient.

Welcome to RepGeek - fun, friendly, flame free and informative.

    J-C,
That's the perfect response. I really have no knowledge of what it takes to become a dealer but I suggested to him that he start by reading the Forum and understanding what it does for members. I have had no problems with any product I ever purchased from him. I don't think , well, I know, he is certainly not equipped to be like Watcheden or many of the other dealers like Andrew and Josh but I figured he must start somewhere. You can't spend your life in Flea markets dodging the investigators and working from a car.

Even if he does not become a dealer, it will certainly serve him well to have the ability to read about what others are doing here. He just returned friom China in March and I think he picked up some good knowledge seeing what happens there.

As far as the business end of it, I know very little and really don't want to get involved. I just thought if he is a good and dependable dealer he could be a good addition as well as grow more knowledgable in the field. It might just be much more involved.
Thanks for your reply , I appreciate the swift reply and the fact that you have been in touch. Just another reason that RG is the place to be. I've been really impressed with this site and enjoy buying my reps and seeing what the guys do here. I wish I had that talent. I have to admit , if it were not for RG I would have been taken to the cleaners over and over again but because of RG I have become a fairly knowledgable buyer. As Syms saysThe best way to buy is to be an "Educated Consumer"

Does your friend have a webpage?
I think that would be the first step, so we can have a look, and compare prices with our trusted dealers, and we can try the service. If price and service is good, wonderful, but if any problem with the aftersale service, ... do you make yourself responsible?
I´m always excited about new dealers, lately I tried tony, first order was excellent and the best price on the market, but an even better price is always welcomed.
