If I could see the details, I would "oh" and "ah." But I'm going to assume they are as vivid as the originals! Did you read the Robb book about him? It was really refreshing and was better, for me anyway, than The Lost Painting and Caravaggio: A Life Sacred and Profane. I may do a write-up about him. For fun. No scholarly dissertations here! LOL

Velasquez is also a great painter and I love his portraits of the Spainish royal family. Did you happen to see the Sussman video that recreated La Meninas? It's very intriguing because of the medium. A video of a painting? Okay, I'm there! I wished I could buy it but haven't seen it anywhere for sale, not that I've checked anyway. I also enjoy his Rokeby Venus which reminds me of Ingres' Grande Odalisque which automatically brings to mind this Michael Thompson photo of Julianne Moore:
