    Default Hello from California

    My introduction to this "hobby" was through the purchase of an over priced "#1 Swiss" made Daytona. Got had with that purchase, but I learned my lesson. When I had problems with that watch I began a little research that led me to places like Rep Geek. I am now a little wiser, but the problems haven't ended. I have now bought 6 reps and have problems with 4 of them. I bought from respected dealers on this forum. Problem list: Super Avenger that gains 15+ minutes/day, Yachtmaster that was DOA, Daytona mentioned above that works fine for a while then will lose about 45 minutes within 2 hours and lastly my most recent purchase was a Hub Big Bang that has a crown that won't lock (it is always in the winding mode). I only have 2 reps that work properly so far, another Yachtmaster and a Por Flat 6 that is fantastic. 2 have been returned to China, one to FL and Big Bang is sitting on my desk still wrapped up waiting to hear from Angus.

    I am not buying any more reps until I get my initial purchases straightened out.

    Welcome! I also have a HBB...and my crown is the same as yours...it is just a pull out crown and not a locking crown. I thought this was the way they were supposed to be. Thanks for bringing it up Cheers and better luck on your future reps

    I just got a response from Angus who sold me the watch and he said it is not supposed to have a screw down crown. I assumed it was supposed to screw down since it was sold as "water resistance >50 meters". I figured you needed a screw down crown for water resistance. Now that I know it is not broken I can finally wear it and enjoy it. It is great looking and keeps very accurate time.

    well, for your rep problems, contact the dealers you got them from. they should be able to get things straightened no problem.

    on the daytona, its seconds at 6? Yea, theres a fix for that around here dealing with greasing the gear.. its a pretty common problem.

    Got one of those from Ruby. Had to send it back, it gained over 15 minutes in 24 hours.

    ruby's might even come with a bling bezel.. no need to have to order one then wait ages for it to arrive.
