Default kicking things off with a Rolex...

    Hi all,

Been bitten by the watch bug! Always been into them but since my uncle brought me back a replica Rolex GMT-Master II from a business trip I'm hooked. I also have a genuine Tag Heuer Aquaracer automatic that's my pride and joy, but I'm mainly here to talk reps... so, below is the Rolex...

Sadly I've never been too keen on wearing it as the all gold is a bit 'bling'...I did recently change the strap for a black leather one though and feel it's made it much more wearable. The thing with it when it had the gold bracelet was most people assumed it was fake from the start, just because they couldn't imagine anyone dropping £5-6k on an all gold Rolex!

Next up I'd love a Richard Mille. I think the designs are really unique and actually quite cool if you get one in a subtle colourway. Other than that, I think an all-black Rolex Sub or maybe Daytona would make for a nice 'general' watch. I've already started browsing some of the TD's websites etc.

Haha, thanks! I guess it does have a Bronzo vibe. Unintended consequence of wanting to tone it down a bit...

Also thanks Swingin Jack, thought I'd make an effort

Genuine gold GMT-Master-II, ref. 16718 can't be had for anything close to £5-6k. They go for £10-12k on the secondary market, that's exactly two times as much.

Ahh ok, thanks for that; I admit I don't know much about Rolex's so it was a stab in the dark based on more 'standard' ones. I was struggling to actually find much info on a model that looked like mine, most all gold ones seem to have a black bezel rather than green...?

The black and gold combination is quite in these days. Looks nice on your wrist.
