Hi From Little Old England
Good morning!
Joined a few days ago to broaden my knowledge of the Rep World. Have been a member on RWG and RWI for a few months now. Spend more time reading than posting tbh.
From the username you probably get that I am a surfer and spend a fair amount of time either in Cornwall or on the East Coast around Scarborough. I live in the beautiful Peak District national park - I couldn't get further from the sea!! Hence the name.
I've a small collection of gen watches mainly Omega. To replace them all now would probably run to a little over £20k. I've also got a couple of Reps, with another due any time now.
I got into reps because I really wanted a vintage SM300. I couldn't justify spending £2k on a Watchco version and all the full on vintage models are now so expensive with potentially so many Frankens about etc. I really love the shape, look and style of the watch so I'm unlikely to move it on, I'm not bothered about it being called out; I just really love this watch.
Sillix sorted one for me which I've had for three months now. Now I'm considering getting it modded. I need a closer to gen, or gen hesalite crystal first. Then, if it's possible, I'd like to put either a gen movement (562) in it or a 2813 (lower beat rate and closer to original). Currently has 2836. Final mod would be to put it on a gen bracelet, just need the end pieces to do this.
I'm not sure if I can do the movement swap, so any help here appreciated......I know there is a search field
Cheers
LLS

Thanks for pointing that out. I haven't been following the news. Has the world gone into meltdown recently or somethin?

BREXIT has vaporized the Pound.

Oh that old tosh.....it will be back sometime. Possibly sooner than a lot of people think.
When we left the ERM (Exchange Rate Mechanism) in 1992 the economy was going to collapse - didn't happen! When we didn't adopt the Euro the world was going to end - didn't happen! Now apparently my house will drop in value enormously, my pound in my pocket is worthless and by the middle of July I'll be a penniless beggar with no job, no prospects and unable to leave England- ain't going to happen! Short term will have an effect, long term; no one really can tell....
If it means a replica watch costs a few quid more for the next few months so be it.

We visited Boscombe to have a look but it more or less flat on the weekend we were there. Never ridden kimmeridge. Favourite break is Lushington's (Porthtowan) and, on its day, Cayton Bay south of Scarborough.
What do you ride? With the passing of years my preference has moved from Short to Longboard, with a Fish on big days

I hear you ... when my wife left she said I would end up homeless, broke, smoking crack and with an STD ... well I showed her wrong, I found a detox program at the local shelter that gives out free penicillin! It's never as bad as you think it's going to be ...

Exactly why nobody should read the main news sites, best to subscribe to Anonymous or Illuminati Exposed.
