Brand new and know nothing about watches-Need suggestions for my husband

I would avoid gold/mixed metal subs as the gold plating will eventually wear. You can't go wrong with this:

Whatever you decide on, post the QC pictures in the QC section so we can make sure there are no obvious flaws.

That seems to be a very nice watch! Would you say for a first Rolex, green would be appropriate? Or should I go with a more neutral color face like black or silver?
