Newbie at dead end?
Hi everyone,
Although I'm a new member here, I have purchased from several TD's in the past, the reps I bought from them were not custom and readily available-- and they never disappointed.
In the last few months I've searched without success for a vintage ladies Rolex datejust but have had no success; I think this is probably because the 26mm watch I'm looking for is now scarcer, as it seems more women are getting into >31mm watches.
Cutting to the chase, I see from RepGeek that My Man Matt (your precious watches) has extensive experience building custom Rolex reps. I see he is not on your TD list, even though I see rave reviews of his work. There are members who have wanted to contact him for builds in recent months, yet I don't see his contact info anywhere on RepGeek... one person mentioned he disappeared and asked forum moderators to clarify if he was still active but there was no response-- which to me is odd. But during that time other members mention having commissioned him for work, and have shown that he has produced.
So, how do I contact My Man Matt to see if he can do the job for me?
Also, with such rave reviews on him, why wouldn't he be on your TD list? Would there be a reason I shouldn't contact him?
Hoping you can direct me there.
Thanks in advance!!

Matt was never a TD but he was a Supporting Vendor once. Unfortunately he was not able to maintain his business and so his section was removed. As per checking his last visit was a year ago so I am doubtful if he would reply to you. Also, SVs are not vetted so you still take a risk when availing of an SVs services.
We don't tell everyone everything so why A is not a TD or B or some other, there's a pretty good reason for it.

Thanks for the clarification.... as such, might there then be a trusted individual who is known for producing the item I'm after?

The answer to that question lies beyond the scope of my knowledge and my responsibility. Good luck on your search.

If you can source the parts for the build, I can help. I don't however have the time to help source any parts, so recommend customers to do their own research and source what parts are needed for their custom builds.

I have a feeling it's not just building the watch. It's not THAT difficult to find a local watchmaker who could build a watch given the right parts.

As I said, I can help, only offering to help a newbie, we were all newbies once.

As a watch modder, I don't doubt you can help assemble the watch. But like I said, it doesn't sound like the OP is looking for someone to assemble the parts he's collected for a custom watch. At least I don't see that he posted he has the parts already. But if he has the parts, then you should certainly be on the short list.
