Who makes real gold reps?
Hi all! As you can see I’m very new to the community. Ive searched the forum for any info on 18k gold reps and wasn’t able to find what I was looking for. Hoping I am in the right place to post my question!
I am looking for a 18kt rose or yellow gold Patek 5711. Fashion shine.net is making the the case and bracelet but charging 25k….
Is there any other dealer/manufactures that I can reach out to?

Years ago, there were scam sites claiming to sell "Italian gold rolex" reps, but from what I've heard, they were scams.
Dont think they exist...i mean, solid gold reps.
Currently there are some AP, Rolex and Patek which are 30 micron gold wrapped, for example this 5711 is 1.300 $.
They exist and have existed since decades. None, or none of them that i know of are produced in substantial volume though, so you might have a problem finding one right now. I've seen and handled a few of these. They're generally a bit of a disappointment, as even though they use solid gold they're not super reps, definitely not by today's standards. They're also lighter that gens, sometimes the gold color was off as well, particularly when substituting 18ct gold with lower-carat alloys with too much copper or silver.
They're generally a thing of the past, when gold price was cheaper and so was the craftsmanship. Many of these watches were made locally by jewelers for people who didn't mind paying for gold, but couldn't justify paying 5 times the metal price to get a gen Rolex Day-Date with it, Daytona copies were quite common as well even though none of them was in any way comparable to Noobs and Cleans of today.
I've seen them for sale locally in Europe and i've seen them on American craigslist as well. Like i've said, these are individual units so i won't give you a direct link to a TD
There are also many solid gold homages, often carrying the brand name "Geneve", such as this one: GENEVE 14K Yellow Gold Swiss Automatic w/ Day/Date Feature - Rolex | Barnebys
If you'd replace the dial, movement and crown you'd have a reasonably convincing Day-Date rep - but don't, as it's much too light to pass off as a gen anyways, in fact it feels way more cheap and flimsy than stainless steel BP reps of the same model
Also, a few of our TDs carried solid gold reps and even listed them on their websites, i think Andrew still has a $9k solid gold President rep in the product catalogue, even though it's discontinued and has been for some time now

What I have heard before, that for example a 5711 that is busted down (like they say) with aftermarket diamonds. That they usually make a replica case from solid gold and bracelet that they then fit with a gen dial and movement and put full of diamonds. Or even an aftermarket dial that they encrust with diamonds and end up going with the movement of a simple calatrava patek which would be similar or the same to a simple date only movement from a 5711

Just thiking out loud, if OP would get a rep 5711 and one of those cases and bracelets. He could potentially have one made like he wants... imagine a yellow gold 5711 with blue dial lol.

Yup. Every rapper had an iced out Bentley or Super Avenger. The diamond district in NY was full of gen dials, bracelets etc. There was a time that you could get a gen Breitling Pro II bracelet for around $400 new. Imagine all the rappers who were sold "aftermarket" blinged out turds.

BTW, this is exactly what's happening right now with Pateks and AP. Many are being duped into buying bussdown watches with lab diamonds and aftermarket cases, dials etc. The only thing genuine (if they are lucky) is the movement.

I would like to say most the time movement is gen, unless the watch is sold as naked then i'd be wary.
Realistically i think you would be better of reaching out to watchdealers who specialise in bussdowns and buying a gen bracelet and maybe even case (as i doubt they even use those for bussdowns - probably fake case and bracelet).
Although you'd probably pay more than 25k (even then im not sure you would as steel gen bracelet is £5k, gold probably double or even slightly more) but you'd always have parts worth money since they're gen parts.
Alternatively could always get them gold plated there are a few members who offer that as a service - closest you could get without spending serious £$€
Youre going to pay 10-20k for the case and bracelet in 18k gold. It's probably 5-10k just for the cost of gold so theyre going to want the full amount in advance before they make it.
