When did we get a swear word filter?

I was wondering about that. I sent a PM to someone last week, had the word f*** in it (I am purposely using asterisks here), and it was transmitted as ****. This was a PM, mind you. I can understand, though not agree, with filtering the public posts, but whatever is written in PM should be off-limits to censoring of any type.

The filter is either on or off, PM's cannot be separated from general posts.

U’d think a profanity filter would be an option in the CP and set to ON as default ? Strange it’s a system wide setting.
