Why not ? Forget " domani." Domani never comes.

I, for one, appreciate your transcribing the atmosphere, the people and the must have items. It enriches my pathetic drone- like existence, lol, but beware ! In our Post Guttenburg Electronic Age, writing in public is extremely suspect.
Are you a spy ? Are you some kind of weirdo who READS ? Are you writing about THEM which is entirely different than being lauded by the Media for, say, and extremely chic and becoming new haircut ( no names ! ) J / K, Posh.

Even now, my low brow mentality logs through a soup of Pop Culture for instead of zooming in on Thomas Aquinas's ' Imitation of Christ ', I see the title credits to ' Imitation of Life ' a wonderful trash film from the fifties starring Lana Turner. Hundreds of huge diamonds float by while Nat King Cole sings : " What is life ? An imitation...."

    I digress. Onward.

I like the Dolce and Gabanna bag also as I too am an afficianado of tassels. I would pitch the gold dangling D and G letters, though.
I think it's great to have what's rare, what's in but why announce it and make it easy for the man ( woman ) on the sreet ?
Make 'em work, that's my motto, lol, or reverse snobbery.

Clutch bags : I think the principle in play here is the same as not wearing a Sub with a tux. Handles / straps express utilitarianism, that you are not part of the fantasy and the implied luxe of the occasion and your silky outfit. The clutch is a concession that you need to carry something. Something non essetial like cigarettes. And a solid gold lighter.

I remember a piece of film in which Jackie Kennedy appears dressed in haut couture at one of their ( the Kennedys...he was President... J / K, Posh ) White House extravaganzas.
She is in the receiving line and without missing a beat puts her left hand behind her back to hand off her clutch purse to a uniformed Marine standing directly behind her. This attention to detail is real perfection as he was well briefed in advance that Mrs. Kennedy would do this unobtrusively, really unseen. The show was seamless till the President had his head blown off at high noon in Dallas Texas. But I digress.

As a full blooded son of France, I object, recoil really at the thought of some Anglais poseur sporting the Fleur-de-Lis as an object of decoration, a trifle, and no, not the chocolate kind.
This is as unseemly as stealing a coat of arms and the Fleur -de-Lis should not be worn by anyone who can not trace their ancestors to the French aristocracy before the Revolution ( no names ! ) lol.

I'm at a total loss to this Burberry plaid thing.
I have nothing against plaid. There are so many beautiful ones ( and Monsieur le Scot should have been proudly wearing one ) but why the same recognizable dreary brown over and over. Sigh.

I wonder if les amis de Valeska are aware that she is more or less edging on copyright infringement.
I speak now of most likely forgotten sixties supermodel Verushka, all 6 ft. 2" of her. Born Countess Vera von Lehendorf, the likes of her will not be seen on this earth again.

I go on and on, but as I've said, you Herculean efforts deserve a well invested response.
I look forward to your next post.

    Norman
Wow. Thanks, Norm. Your always make me feel like Alice at the Mad Hatter's tea party. Curiouser and curiouser.

Thank you, Martin. I try. I just want the whole wide underworld to look like a a 20 year-old European aristocrat spending the last of his family's fortune on bottle service at club where even a regular Coke is 10 EUROS ($20 dollars, give or take)!!!!!

No, you have to buy reps when a can of Coke costs 20 dollars.

Feels like it's $20 for a 12-pack at the grocery store lately. Anyone else noticed a 24-pack is over $9 now? I normally live on caf. free diet coke, but I haven't justified it in about a month.

Of course, there is a positive. Since I haven't had any coke products in the place, making Jack & Cokes has stopped as well. And since I've been on a bit of a health kick lately, buying healthier food for lunch at work, more veggies, and hope to work out more once this silly cold is outta the way... there really are a LOT of positives coming from this!

Off to dinner. Hope to be back in time for a little poker later if everyone is around.

When did we get on the price of groceries? I have never given grocery tips. LOL

Cutting out high sugar products like Coke from your diet can trim five to ten pounds off your body.

See, you think it's just a regular bottle of Coke, in actuality it's a bottle of the original formula, the one that contained actual Coke.

Sounds like you had a great time... also sounds like the sort of place I would have absolutely hated.

That would explain the price. It would basically make a non-drinker buy alcohol because a beverage with alcohol was only two bucks more.

Don't sell it short! You have the capacity to get happy and dance and drink until dawn, right?

Excuse 'em wah, but I've been to at least 3 Benassi shows in the last year, and not once did he play Satisfaction. Get with the program, Girl. Now it's "Bring the Noise," "Chilli Peppers Other Side Remix," "Who's Your Daddy," among others.

And let's be real, how many times can Benny Benassi throw us the beat to "Satisfaction?"

He doesn't have to play it for it to be creeping just underneath! Benny Benassi has a "sound." Just like Tiesto who I detesto, except for one song he did and it was a remix of someone else's song.

Most of the popular DJs have a particular sound. Pakito, Benassi, Ramirez, Crystal Method, Aphex Twin. Some, like Tiesto, Okenfold and Paul VD, and even Moby are pretty diverse.

Benassi and D.Ramirez are my current favs. Going to Benassi this weekend :-)

You're right but there's a habing a "particular sound" and just being outright predictable. I like Benassi, don't get me wrong; but he IS predictable. But it's a good kind of predictability, unlike Tiesto who just grates on my nerves. Except for that one song which he surprised on and was being Tiesto on five instead of Tiesto on ten, dialing it back really helped make the lyrics shine. He really made No Air sound really, REALLY GREAT. I liked the song before but went crazy for it all over again with his remix. Have you heard it? I'll send it if you haven't heard it.

I haven't heard it, but I've love to!

I also like Oakenfold's stuff, from the few times I've seen videos online. Where does one find more of his stuff?

Thanks for another Absolutely Fabulous post. I love reading these and living vicariously the life of the young and equisite.
