If you don't want french, italian and spanish sections just because you don't understand it, it's your right, but i think we are far away from an invasion.

I don't think it will screw the english nature of the site.

It's just a plus, but you obviously don't want to share.

I cruise the Italian section from time to time. I just haven't bothered nembo for translations..........but I try and figure the posts out. I'm thinking a Pam fan should check out the Italian section!!!!

I like Italy ....in general terms anyway though.

Where would it end then? why not a German section or Chinese section? we have large populations of both countries represented here. If I were asked about creating a Spanish section or Italian section, I would have said no for the simple reason that this is an English speaking board. If we were to create more language sections, this place would end up like the United Nations.. each speaking their own language and nothing getting done. I can appreciate the fact that this is a global board, but we are here, united under one common language. Anything further from that and the content is watered down and only accessible by people that speak those languages. I'm sure there is a French speaking rep board, as well as a German, Italian, Chinese, <insert various other language here>, and if there is not, I do feel sorry that those particular peoples do not have a place to congregate and enjoy this fine hobby of ours... maybe someone should create different language boards where there are none.

That's just my opinion and I do not speak on behalf of repgeek in this thread.

Je ne crois pas qu'il y a besoin. Si en veut discuter en francais, c'est mon avis qu'un forum entierement en francais ne sera pas trop difficile de creer.

Hosting a forum isn't hard, so setting up a forum in your native language would be the best solution. There's already a Spanish rep forum and, iirc, a German one too.

I muss work my english... sometime is really difficult to understand post, short words or local expression, but it s ok, i think english or americain members must laugh sometimes by reading our English

I'm not for a french section, nor any other sections than english's.

And I'm even more against those language section since I know that there are interesting things said overthere.
Those interesting things must be discussed in English, so everyone can read it.

Anyone can enter the VIP section in paying, but there is no way for the non italian or spanish spokers to enter the Italian or spanish sections.
Is that fair ?

Well, some months ago i wanted , and asked for a french subsection, at that time the spanish one was dead (and still is) and the italian wasn't here yet.

I remembered reading some post saying "If you have something interesting to read, isn't it better to share it to everyone", and at that time i didn't agree.

Not sure why the italian subsection made it but now, indeed, there is sometimes when i want to read the post there and just can't, i've already bothered nembo once on a post talking about customs seizure, i can't see myself pming him everytime i don't get it.

So in the end my position has changed, and i 'd like to see those subsections removed totally, or actually made them invisible to non suscriber so i won't be tempted to read probably interesting post that i can't understand.

we have subsections for everything.. why not a french section? RG should embrace all languages. go global... totally.

just be done with it and add french/german sections.

no more alternative language sections. Besides, everyone speaks English now anyways, or if they don't, they should. Global domination! 80 different sections with 5 members each.... why not just email each other?

The purpose of the language subsections is to help those that cant speak english and to make those feel more welcome. If the community is there to support it Im all for it.

I don't agree with the whole theory , or maybe the way you expressed it

but, taking into account that the number of french spoken people in need of a french section doesn't seem very high ( well, it seems to be null actually ) i think you're right (on the result, got to be pragmatic sometimes)

PMs seem indeed efficient enough if someone need help .

That was indeed the spirit of this invitation

But i also do agree that a french section with no one on it wouldn't be profitable.

It wasn't about getting a section JUST for the pleasure ( with or without bowl

If nobody has to be helped, well, it's pretty encouraging, isn't it ?
