movie section

Could we have a section for discussion of movies. Where we could post trailers from youtube, and discuss whether a movie was good or bad. I think there's quite a few on here into films and I think it could be cool to have a section like that.

Just a suggestion.

Personally I think this already fits into off topic quite nicely. We do have quite a few here that like to talk about films and whatnot, but I don't think it happens enough to warrant it's own section, and is too far off of the main course of this board. Feel free to post up your movie trailers in off-topic and we can re-visit this in the future.

Kinda new to the site, but Anubis, your name and avatar indicate a fascination with SG1, which of course is, classic cult media (good stuff I must state.) There may be quite an audience in regards to movies, tv, media in general on the forums. I have seen quite a few movie references in the forums while perusing them. We may be suprised on how many are in such the facination of media.

BTW, I sincerely hope you know about SG-U (Universe) coming out soon (Summer 2009.) Supposed to be good stuff, the guy from 28 days later (the Dad) is a main character. BUT, Lou Diamond Phillips is in it, so holding my breath!

Anubis took the name because he is the Snoop Doggy Dog of the afterlife man. I wonder how many people realize that the names of the Goa'uld "gods" were from various Egyptian gods? haha

Coming from another movie buff POV, I'd really welcome a movie/film section. However, I understand that it is "off-topic" for this already niché forum and perhaps the appropreately named off-topic section is better suited. A bit of a shame, as I'm sure some really good movie threads would go unnoticed in off-topic.

If they dont know, then they are not true SG1 guru's

If you ever noticed the "head marks" some of the jaffa had, they all represented which ever Goa'uld "God" that they were "pledged" to. The symbols are pretty much on the money with the exception of the Yu, of course, being a Chinese diety (God of War although known also as the God of Wealth in some circles of Chinese mythology.)

What about a Sub-forum off the Off-Topic forum?
Just tossing out ideas if there really is a lot of interest in it.
