The pleasure is completely mine, Kent. The Hermes replica really is astonishing in its adherence to faithfully recreating the enormous amount of detail in the genuine Clipper Chrono Maxi. I was amazed that it had even been attempted. But these counterfeiters are ingenious and brazen and there seems to be nothing they can't eventually replicate. I am awaiting the Vacheron Constantin Ille to be made. 1:1, of course.
Also, please know that this watch will accept genuine bracelets so you can get the stainless steel 'H' bracelet or the rubber coated one so you can change the look.

Um, as far as the vachetta straps on replicas go, they are now, in the higher quality replicas, almost identical to the original and so that whitish, natural color turns a golden color slowly over time with use. Exposure to sun, air and the oils from the hands gives the straps a rich amber patina over time that almost all hardcore Vuitton-istas strive for, especially in Japan. While here in America it is typically preferred by some to try to keep the vachetta looking as light as possible for as long as possible, most owners, like those in Japan and most of Asia, wouldn't dream of carrying a new bag before several months to a year has passed. That's usually how long it takes for an undisturbed bag to oxidize to a faint tan from the almost whiteness of new vachetta.
In Japan, a woman or man seen carrying a bag that has not turned at least a soft tan is thought to be as gauche as a person having red wine with fish; that person is viewed as new to Vuitton and not a true "collector," meaning poor essentially. Status is important to people and Japan and higher status means more respect. And in a world where respect is not guaranteed, these small symbols instantaneously offer social acceptance and, by exstention, self-worth. That's hard work for a purse, battle satchel or travel bag!

Having been up close and personal with both, I can say it t has a Flat 6 aura about it but the similarities end at case shape, really. They are both sport watches but one has the pedal to the metal and the other is just touring. They should both be in every replica collection worth its salt.

Dan, she can carry this bag with complete confidence. I did not mention the Sofia Coppola pochette in this, which is a companion bag to this one, but replicas of it are terrible and I cannot recommend them even though the size is perfect for evening and fits into this bag so it can go straight to day into the evening.
