If I see someone asking too much for a watch, or misrepresenting it, I'd rather say something publicly than wait for the argument to start. Some people don't know what they're buying and rely on the community to keep them straight.

Or are you honestly suggesting we let people sell Asians as Swiss because the buyer should arrive on the forum fully informed?

Good point Pug. We would consider such comment to be informative as mentioned, and therefore acceptable (and useful) for the benefit of potential buyers.

That is where the experience of the members helps keep the Sales Section self regulating in terms of fair value and quality.

I'll second this. As newb myself.. seeing any potential problem messages would be more helpful than not. Run an honest ship, etc blah blah blah.

    certainly better than bump messages..

I agree with this as well. It's nice to have the more seasoned members jump in and question things sometimes. Some sellers are not fully aware of what they are selling or haven't listed it correctly or are unsure of some of the details (movement, etc.).

I had someone post a negative comment on a strap I was selling and then have the nerve to ask to buy just the deployment from me. I definitely could have done without that post!

This thread is cluttering the forum. I just wasted 45 minutes of my bosses time reading it. (Apart from Dave's posts which i skipped).

To be honest, I really don't mind the cheer-leading. It's the friggin novels and drama I could do without. It should be noted that PMing someone privately on a price or mistake is more appropriate than publicly posting. Although it should also be noted that public corrections can be done tastefully.

Not placing a support comment on a sale thread is like ignoring my wife on our aniversary day, or birthday, or Cupido's day.

Remember, this site is about watches and support of their members.
    Just my opinion!

Agree. The problem also is the possitive comments about a watch that is not very good. I believe many newbies rely on others for comments.

You guys pissed Frank off. He never came back.

Hope you enjoy your watch, Xyphis. Post pics when you get it.
Sue Lor: All the people in this house are very traditional. Number one: never touch a Hmong person on the head. Not even a child. The Hmong people believe that the soul resides on the head, so don't do that.
Walt Kowalski: Well... Sounds dumb, but fine.
Sue Lor: Yeah, and a lot of Hmong people consider looking someone in the eye to be very rude! That's why they look away when you look at them.
    Walt Kowalski: Yeah. Anything else?
Sue Lor: Yeah... some Hmong people tend to smile or grin, when they're yelled at. It's a cultural thing, it expresses embarrassment or insecurity. It's not that they're laughing at you or anything.
Walt Kowalski: Right, you people are nuts.

When I am on a sales thread and a member on here who knows Panerais or Rolexes well comments that what's up for sale looks good or is a decent deal, I do pay attention as member support may reinforce that a watch for sale is a good deal. What's also telling or me is when there is 'silence' when a watch is put up for sale.
