RSS feed?

They do it on RWG. You need to sign in to see the trade area and they have an RSS option.

To turn on RSS, I think you need to poke around in this section:

Here is how to add an RSS link to a forum in VB 3.6:

To replace the word RSS with a picture logo:

I've attached a nice rss png file.

I guess you might have an issue since you need to be logged in to see the trade section but RSS feeds require guest access. Hmm. Maybe it would be ok as you couldn't get the RSS feed unless you knew the url and I doubt someone would know it if they didn't have a login.

Kollector brought this up to me about 2 moths ago. I have it done. I just have to wait for our dedicated server to be ready to enable it.

I am doing it for the majority of the forum threads. It was going to be a surprice but now the cat is out of the bag.

For the uninitiated...can someone explain how an RSS feed works? It will set up some way so I can find out whenever new posts are made in the trade forum? Does this info go to my email or cell?

RSS is an internet feed. Think of it like a news ticker for the internet. It lets you monitor changes/new posts/etc without having to come back to the site and refresh the page. Also lets you monitor as many sites as you want, so you dont need to check like 20 bookmarks per hour.. all automatic.

It can be used in all sorts of ways, including on your mobile, or you can get an RSS software reader, etc.

It's like subscribing to a thread... only better.
