Hi
Hi
Reading Tim Ferriss' book I was inspired to look for things to resell online. On Alibaba I found replicas for hard to believe prices, but suspected that not everything is as it seems when almost nobody used true photographs, but copied photos from the original websites and then plastered their own logo across, making it hard to see details of the watch they were selling. I decided to invest an amount that I could afford to lose and paid $35 with Mastercard for a "two tone submariner". 3 weeks later the watch arrived - one tone only, which is fine. I had the bracelet adjusted and discovered that it runs 35 minutes late a day. Still not bad for the price, will try to have it adjusted by a local watchrepair shop. In the meantime I was spending by far too much time searching the internet for replica websites and was disgusted after just a short time. "review" sites that only recommend two sellers (which turn out to be absolutely identical) and many other "reviewers" that are quite obviously simply marketing websites wity the sole purpose of driving customers to specific sellers. Sad. Then the language, Ok I can deal with that. Not accepting credit cards? Big red flag, would never buy here, no recourse in a not quite legal industry.
Tons of wewbsites that simply do not care to provide the most basic information -
what on earth are the measurements? What movement? And please could you post pictures of the actual watch, maybe even -gasp- pictures of the spots that count in the evaluation of a rep? Maybe even several pictures instead of just one dim frontal fuzzy picture?
And what's with the watersign? Why do they make the pictures hard to see? Why on earth do you need them at all? What is so terrible about having your precious pictures copied? Does it hurt your pride? As long as your photos represent the actual watches - I as the customer am very happy. Pleases stop the nonsense with the watermarks....
And why are so many reps not waterproof ? Every cheap $80 Invicta is waterproof, even cheaper watches are as waterproof as you may want them! If Invicta can do it, so can you!
You see, I want, pardon, I need a USABLE watch, a watch that I can wear all day long, a watch that is not bothered by me washing hands often or going into the shower. I want a watch that does not break when it falls off the bed onto the ground.
I am looking for a replica well knowing that I can get very accurate, waterproof and good looking watches, durable watches, brand watches, even chronographs for about $ 80-300. You know them - the Seikos, Timex, Invictas, Mallards of this world.
Yet, I am here because I prefer to buy a watch that has all of the above AND a desirable brand look. Is it possible? Most definitely.
Copying the outer design from another watch does not make the same watch suddenly 20 to 100 times more expensive. I am very willing to compromise on some issues. I do not need the "904" steel, thank you very much. The regular steel is quite enough.
I am aware that the luxury brands spend an inordinate amount of money on image creation and cultivation. Celebrity indorsements, full page glossy ads in expensive magazines, store real estate in the most expensive malls, high comissions and profit ranges for exlusive jewelry stores - all that is very, very, very expensive. Dear luxury brand, I know that you are pi$$ed that I do not want to pay for that, or better said, that I cannot afford to pay for that. I apologize!
And , when I was about to give up on reps, I decide to check review sites, which after more disappointments led me to puretime, where a small side ad led me to repgeek...
Here I am, happy to be here!
Thank you all for having this forum, thank you for your tips, thank you for pointing me towards reliable dealers that provide good information, realistic photos, many photos, that answer emails and
that skip the stupid "list price" that is x-ed out and replaced by a slightly lower price - I learned about that trick 30 years ago...
Thank you for helping me get a solid, waterproof, fully functional watch that I will be proud to wear! Please stay the way you are and please keep doing what you are doing!
Thanks!
