Ok, enough lurking!
I figured I might as well make my first post now that all is well here in RG-land (Post-terrorist DDoS attack!). Anyway, I stumbled across these forums in a weird way, and since I'm bored at work I'll go ahead and retell it here! (Warning:Wall of text, tl;dr after)
I have always been big on watches, but never thought to venture into the world of reps before due to questions of quality. I have my nice little box of Fossil watches and had seen a new line come out for them with a color combination I wanted.
I went on down to the local fossil store (Only benefit to Central Florida, random shops everywhere in tourist-ville) and inquired about purchasing the strap, because I already had a case set that they had re-used in the new line. Long story short, they told me I couldnt have the strap and would have to buy the watch. Forget that! I rushed home and googled "Custom Straps" thinking I could find my own.
From there I found Donerix's site, fell in love with the PAM's (Thinking this guy seriously had a collection of infinite 4-150K watches just sitting on some beautiful coastal terrace) and that led me to the HF...which led me to RWG...which led me here! I made my strap...then made 6 more...then made my first purchase from Jackson (Still en route, only been a week) and here I am with a giant wish list of watches!
I'm infinitely grateful for the information you guys put out on a daily basis and of all the forums, this is far and away my favorite.
TL;DR - Couldn't buy strap I wanted, googled until I stumbled upon the almighty RG. Now headfirst into the hobby.
