Can we please get rid of the redirect page?

This is annoying and it really just slows the entire browsing experience on this site. Any time you want to click a link of something really quick, rather than "wait" .5 seconds you end up with a little over five seconds to do something.

Tons of places are doing just fine without this 'feature' and there certainly isn't an abundance of infected users on other forums. If people are really that concerned just switch to Firefox and use noscript.

It also makes link copying worse. I can't just right-click copy a URL and paste it somewhere else. I actually have to click the link, wait >5 seconds highlight the entire URL copy it and then paste it.

Nope.

The re-direct is a fail safe to ensure the safety and security of our members and site. It does not register the hits directly back here. Thus, allowing us easy and relative anonymity when visiting gen sites.

I was thinking the same thing as tom, but that's a damn good answer. The redirect page is now my friend

Why do we need to do this?
We need to do this because some sites track the referrer header, which means they know where the visitor came from. To protect the site, our members and our hobby's privacy, the redirect is used.

Small sacrifice for safety.

can we at least set the delay to 0 seconds or whatever the absolute minimum is then? I understand that there's a need for the redir but adding time does nothing, right?

There is no need to apologize,it was a proper question.
Not sure about the time frame thing,we will look into it,but I do not guarantee anything.

Just click on the link that shows the URL where You are going.

Then You dont have to wait and are taken directly to that site.
