greetings..... what does catch and release mean?

new here.... i was browsing the rep forums and i see a lot of people say catch and release. what does that mean?

like in fishing, you fish to catch a fish but then release it right back, same with the watches. you bought a watch then for whatever reason decide its not for you or you just dont want to keep it. so you "catch and release" so to speak without really ever having used it.
