    Default Singapore

Hi all! I'm from Singapore and very new in these shopping and who has a better quality than other for each brand. However i have bought quite a few over the years, hit and run.

Funny thing is that i remember saving for a year when i was young, just to buy myself an authentic gucci. Now that i am working and have the means, i can't imagine myself paying thousands for a bag!

Hi there, welcome to the forum. I trust that you'll find many local ghettos here. Are you more interested in rep bags than watches?

Welcome aboard to a fellow countryman!

    Age has that effect.
8 years ago, I didn't even blink when I bought a $100k japanese car (yes cars are expensive in Singapore) while surviving on a fresh graduate's pay scale. And upgraded every couple years.
8 years on, despite making multiples of what I used to, I now drive the cheapest car that I have owned. Though that dream Porsche is hopefully still up for consideration once I complete the house mortgage in another 5 years.

We just get more stingy *ahem* careful with money as we get older

    Haha,

Whole reason i moved away from that place. Its because it does not really have a whole lot of great stuff about it.

    1) Cars are really expensive, on top of the car price and besides being taxed, you have something called a Certificate of entitlement (COE) This can range from 50-60 Grand right now to own a car. So a Jap car can cost 120-130 Grand. That is madness.

    2) We live on top of each other. We do not have the luxury of space. So we build high rise government owned housing. Mind you 95% of singaporeans live in governement housing. For a country with a space less then the city of San Francisco, 5.5 million people just does not work.

    3) Cost of living is among the top 20 in the world.

BUT, its a good place to visit and stay for a while, NOT Living there. Yup, i still do visit every now and then and i am glad i do not have to put up with that country no more.
