Is it true you can only do 3 sales post per month? Had I known this I would have combined them. I figured combined sales threads tend to get messy and confusing.

I believe that you can only combine sales if you are a VIP.

Yes you can only combine as a VIP.
Read the rules everything is there...as a matter of fact if you would have done it you would know you can only do 3 sales in the regualar sale section.
