Hi T, difference is cosmetic - the engine/movement if eta in both watches, 2836/2.

The "08" version has a ceramic covered bezel and is based on the ceramic GMT rollie. It has the sandwich, or cut, bezel markers also.

Both are 40mm/the standard size for rollies. There is also the DSSD which is a larger case if you want the same basic look, but a bigger watch.

Trusty is very good and one of our RepGeek Recommended Vendors, so you can buy with confidence.

I do not want to say what you should buy, opinions differ on what versions are the best, etc. A bit like asking who is the prettiest girl?
    IMO, alle sind gut.

For me, $300 usd for a terrific version of a $8,000 watch is very good, yes. 99.99% of the population will think your watch is genuine and very nice.

One choice for you to consider is look in the RepGeek EU Member Sales section. There are several rollies and you could see some different choices, as well as get it faster.
For schwimmbad, I personally do not get my watches wet, but many fellow RepGeeks swim/shower/even dive with them.

The EU sales section is only visible once you upgraded to VIP membership.

    J-C should have told you.

There is the "trade area" visible to you right from the start; this one is busy and full of offers as well - but focus on the "(EU)" marked sales there due to the customs hassle with direct shipments from Asia or the US (also called CONUS there), esp. if you're dealing with fellow geeks instead of trusted dealers.

Dealers arrange for the famous "triangle shipment" for save watch arrival while most US geeks cannot offer that.

Alternatively it may be quicker to order from one of our trusted dealers in Asia directly. If you go for top level modded sub reps, BK (located in the US) offers safe shipment to the EU as well.

    Cheers!
