Hello Hello Hello
I should have formally introduced myself much earlier.
Salutations to all the kings of knowledge, community diplomats, concierges, moderators and members who have thus far impressed the hell out of me.
Me: I hail from the S. Side of Chicago. Lived here forever. Mid 30's. Professional. Though still a child at heart and in play.
Watch collection is new though I have been a straight male fashion junkey for decades. Don't know how I didn't get into this hobby earlier.
Really into music. Collection of vinyl is in the thousands of 12's. Not to mention 10's 45's etc. And now with the advent of everything digi a couple Tbites of WAV , AIFF etc files. I started doing the DJ thing in 93 and never stopped though it makes me no money at the moment. Just another highly fetishized hobby that makes me who I am. Anyone who knows enough about Chicago will understand the DJ thing. Most of my influences in that regard are from the earlier hayday years though I have much love and spend much cash on new releases. Of topic here but if anyone wants to have long conversations about funk, disco, house, techno, or anything in between PM me.
I am not as steeped in the lexicon of this trade as other so forgive my noob speak if it occurs when talking watches. I'm learning.
Never had much of an engineering or mechanic streak but seriously thinking about buying a set of tools and some movements that can be experimented on. Any recommendations there please let me know.
This may sound strange but my foray into this world perfectly coincides with a departure from a darker place and the redirection of energy and enthusiasm is much healthier and valuable. I will leave that at that.
So, happy to be here in this web Shangri-LA.
Anyone who wants to say hi or correct me if I'm being an idiot please do so.
Baring unforeseen circumstances I will be writing a lot here, in context where appropriate of course.
