    Default New member, Panerai interest

Glad to be here. My goal is to learn about Panerai reps and if they prove satisfactory I might be convinced sell my gen Pam.
I fear that rep Panerai will die on me and that they are not good for every day wear/hand winding? Hope that's not true, I would like to buy a nice homage as my grab & go watch.

Welcome to the forum babalui! In my experience, most rep movements are fairly reliable in general. They all have their idiosyncrasies, but many of the rep movements have reputations of being very hrd to kill. Plus, there are MANY different movements used in Panerai reps, from very inexpensive 21j movements that cost $20, to swiss ETA movements, and just about anything in between. As far as basic watch construction goes, the newest generation of PAM reps are VERY well put together and should last years without any problems. Plus.... They are getting VERY close to gen in design accuracy.

I would not tell you to sell your Gen

    but

I have had my PAM090 replica for almost 5 years.
    never had any issues.
keeps excellent time (+10-15 secs a day)
its been worn very frequently, been dropped a few times, banged, been thru hell.

still looks and works perfect perfect!

    oh yeah welcome.

Bud, if you buy the Soprod Pam in the sales section, it has a "gen" soprod movement. The same movement as the real deal. There is zero difference and will last every bit as long, its a panerai outsourced movement. I sold my gen panerai, and have nothing but Soprod PAMs. Same movement.... If your really looking to sell your gen that is the absolute way to go. Forget the Noob, H stuff. Yes they are awesome. But if your selling a gen, buy the Soprod.
