Default Middleold watch addict, new to RepGeek...

...but not so new to reps anymore []

    Hi ,

Iīm a watch addict since several years now and am a so called "flipper".
I always buy and sell and buy and sell and Iīm always on the hunt for "the collection".
I had some very nice watches which seemed to be, at least, the start of my exit collection...but (there is always a but )...there are some watches that Iīll never own as a gen since they are simply to expensive for me

I tried with hommage watches like Steinhart, Davosa and else...no way...they look similar but at the end they are just a look-a-like and easier to spot even for a non-watch-addict.

So I asked myself...why not try to buy a replica...and...i found out...without even a little knowledge I donīt have to send my money somewhere...itīs easier to throw it into the bin...

So with that "knowledge" I started to read and learn and read and learn (first RWI, then RWG and now here)...(to be continued)...

Meanwhile I managed to buy a regmariner LV which is pretty nice for the money and a really good start I guess.
I too bought a "16610 Superrep" but this one needs some love since the mvmnt has some trouble.

Good thing for me is that I live only a few km from where Domi is located and the previous owner will cover the costs.

And...I purchased three watches from Andrew (TT)...all are already on its way

since the 1675 are not in stock yet I decided to change my previous order and switched to a 16750...

    http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main...roducts_id=249

and only because Iīve read a lot about the superb out of the box qualitiy of the actual ultimate superlumed SD I had to order one

And...last but not least...I decided to stay with this, sort of, new hobby for a while

Yeah man, that was my first rep back in 2007. a Noobmariner from Reg.
of course the stuff from trusty and josh at PC has made leaps and bounds from those days.

Well...as said in the headline...I am already a watch addict, a WIS so to say

    I came straight from gens...

I started my career back in 1983 with my first swatch, a Jelly Fish .
Till 1993 I had about 25 different swatch in my collection and decided to go for my first "expensive" full metal watch...a Citizen Promaster Chrono which cost me a little more then 500DM
1994 I bought my first Sinn, a 144 St Sa from good old Helmut...very nice experience
Sinn Sinn was followed by an Omega Speedmaster 1995, a Baume & Mercier Hampton Automatic in 1996, a Baume & Mercier Riviera Chrono in 1997 and a Glashütte Sport Diver also in 1997...as one can see...I was totally infected

I had to sell all my expensive watches due to divorce from my wife but kept the Citizen as it hasnīt had a high value at all.
    I was cured till 2007...
I was lying in hospital and had to distract myself from pain so I surfed the internet.
I donīt remember anymore but it ended up with being a member of two very famous german watch boards and starting my new collection with bying Seikos.
After a year or so I decided to leave the Seiko path and headed over to low priced (up to 1k€) swiss watches.
Only a half year later I found myself within the middle price range (up to 3k€) and at the end of 2009 I had been hooked by PAM and Rolex.
I spend a lot of money these times in finding out what would be the "right watch" or at least "the right collection" for me...as already been told...I bought and sold and bought and sold like there was no tomorrow.
I always felt uncomfortable with spending and keeping so much money with and in watches...but I canīt stop at this moment.
End of 2010 I somehow cleared my mind, sold all my watches spent the money for a new bathroom (3rd child was born in 2010, we need to get a second bathroom ) and decided that my collection should never be worth more then 5k€.
So I had some Sinn, Revue Thommen, Seikos and Citizen as well...fine...
Beginning of this year I became bored again of my collection and I still was hooked by Rolex...but...I still didnīt want to spend so much money for watches.
That was the point when I started to go my way into reps

So what would I like to say with this...I do know a lot about watches, I had a lot of different watches (last year I started to count at least the different watches I had photos of...196 watches from April 2007 till June 2012...yep...Iīm nuts ), and finally I found what really impresses me.

    First...itīs the design.
    Second...itīs the technology.
    Third...itīs the hunting

So Iīm pretty sure I donīt want to get back to PAM but will stay with Rolex.
The purchases done so far are just for having some watches to wear.

Iīd like to Franken some watches...so my future projects will be:

    A 1675
    A 5513
    A 1680
    A 16610LV

I think Iīll start with something "low Franken" and mod it to the max piece by piece.

My grail project will be a 16520 SuperFranken with Zenith 400 movement, gen dial, gen hands, gen bracelet, gen crystal, gen crown, gen pusher, aftermarket case.
But at this moment this project is far away
