Hi, Confused newbie here - SUB advice and guidance required.....

Hi,

I joined the forum about a week ago and can see how seriously addictive this forum, and hobby is. Indeed after doing some looking around I have already bought and received a lovely Tag Link from Narikaa - whose service was second to none, and ordered a Daytona from Josh which I hope will be with me soon.

The Link is great and looks good, but it will always be a £100 rep. The Daytona, especially given the secs@6 issues which have been identified, will be an evening wearer.

However my ultimate buy will be a Sub, and the Hulk version at that. Having splurged recently on the two reps above I have some time to stash some cash for the Sub, but it will be my day to day and I want it to be GOOD, as well as the best value and as top notch as I can afford.

I am so confused by the different movements and therefore the prices, not to mention the factories (Noob/BP??), and whether an AR is correct, a DW sits properly or whether the cyclops is good from all angles!

I have spoken to some of the TD's who have been helpful, as well as some of the forum goers, and of course tried to read as much as I can BUT THERE IS SO MUCH INFO, and naturally people's opinion changes from person to person. There are plenty of lovely watches, Navitimer, Sea Dweller and whilst I like them, I would not be too bothered dropping £100 / £150 on those as 'decent' reps. But for the Sub I want to spend more, but not stupid money if that makes sense.

I am lucky enough to own a Gen Tag Carerra which my Missus bought for me, but I like having a choice, and the Sub will be my go to watch.

This is not the stereotypical - who has the best Sub question - although it may seem like it ........

But I would like to take some guidance from those Sub owners - gen and rep - and those who have had Subs pass through their hands over the course of their hobby.

Many of the TD's offer $300/$400 (with ER roughly £200/£250) Subs, but is there a specific dealer I should really be looking at. I hear a lot about TC's subs, but cannot see that he has a website, and having emailed him he confirmed that he is not a dealer.

Sorry, am a bit confused and looking for some SUB Guidance.

Everyone has their favourite versions and most agree I think on which is best but I bought my TT Sub from Trusty, about a year ago and it keeps perfect time so far.
I seem to recall it was $250 ish but for what I was expecting, compared to the quality I recieved, I am more than happy to recommend it.
Again, best of luck and there are so many members here who have a wealth of invaluable knowledge regarding gens and reps of these.
