Default Probably been mentioned but I have to say it.

Seems we are getting more than our fair share of `dispute` threads from new members that expect `World Class service` and `next day delivery` from either TDs or other long standing members. Now I appreciate that not all transactions go smoothly and invariably there will be hiccups but my point is this.

Is there any way the system can be changed so that someone cannot join one day and buy 5 minutes later?

It`s the whole Mr 4 posts with the `Paypal dispute` pantomime and/or Mr `Joined today and flaming a TD tomorrow` scenarios that are becoming more prevalent by the week.

Maybe I`m missing something but I thought there already was a set structure in place to automatically police this situation? This would buy new members time to read and learn a bit before jumping in on the offensive.
    Turns out he was right.........

Actually, not a bad idea TBH.
I remember getting over excited when I first joined and bidded for a ton on M2Ms, only to be disheartened when I was (politely) turned down.
Never quite understood it at the time but now completely get why.
MODS....Perhaps after registering, sending out as a PM/email the rules and also a guide to selling and buying?
I know that would have certainly helped me back then.

THere is a structure in place and the staff works pretty hard on sales, that said...we prohibit/limit new members from opening sales 5 minutes after registration....we can't stop them from buying.
That can only be done by the seller.
Sometimes and i don't mean this to trump on all noobs (but it is what it is),sellers should exercise their due diligence and be more selective of who they sell to or how they sell to....
Unfortunately more often than not the "smell of money" clouds the judgment while it is better to loose a sale in my opinion, than to take a chance you might regret dearly.
As we always say ....choose your seller, choose you dealer but also CHOOSE YOUR BUYER!!

OP - I recommend before an RG member buys or sells a watch on RG that they read the below post:

    http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.ph...ht=perspective
"Aiyah Panerai, buay beh liao eh lah."

I myself have sold (albeit on RWI) to many Noobs. I don't discriminate, generally first come first served, yes I'm aware of the risks but so far things have gone smoothly and they've been very happy/appreciative! That's just my experience....

As Nembo said above, Mods can not stop new members to buy and in a way it is a good thing .. but the responsibility is also to the seller, we have to choose to who we sell.. Personally I don't work with the first come first serve, or give my pp adress directly after the "ill take it". I enumerate firs the disclaimer to the future buyer before payment and answer t all the questions before payment because that way there won't be any misunderstanding

Because it is not fair .. And all the noobs are not brainless, and sometimes a "new member" here can be an old member outhere who know the rep game. I think the responsibility is on the seller, he has to choose the right person to sell to even though sh+t can happens sometime..

No not all noobs are brainless but I think what brwhitesox is saying is, that it might alleviate some of the aforementioned issues by buying them to time to read/see how things work.

agreed! I'm a n00b and recently made a transaction with Toros, and I was over the moon with the watch and the process and I cant see what the problem is.
Stupid people will still be stupid after 30 days.

Yes, because you can`t see what the problem is doesn`t mean it doesn`t exist.

You`re absolutely correct in saying stupid people will still be stupid in 30 days but arguably they`ll be more informed and therefore less likely to say stupid things.

As most of you know, I'm not exactly a politically correct kind of guy/administrator
I'm not like this on the forum, like I'm not politically correct in life, I try always to be fair and I think this is the best I can do and what required from my role
I say this because, I agree with who says noob should be restricted for 30 days etc... Yes because of a few, all will pay
I agree not all noobs are dumb, etc.. Etc...
Limiting noobs It's not the politically correct thing to say, it's not the nice thing to do but it's practical and realistic
They say :If it looks like **** and it smells like it.... It probably is and if it's not, all the better and we can move on
I don't think that we can restrict access (software wise) to noobs and I'm not sure the rest of the administration even would like that, but I'm in favor of it and I don't mind stating something that might be unpopular in our often fake, politically correct world

Has you are also a supporting vendor + a mod. I wanted to ask you, have you ever had some issues with pp payment with a noob here who opened a dispute ?

As an administrator....i've seen dozens over the years.
As a seller only once and mostly because i decided to be very selective of whom i sell to
I don't want to sound like an ******* and yes there are rotten apples even between more seasoned members, people acting on impulse or simply plain scammers, that said i base myself on statistics so to speak.
This is not being elitist, snobs, classist even racists or whatever you want to call it is simply relying on facts/statistics and calling it as it is.
It's the law of the large numbers.
    If anything is being realists.
It makes me laugh and shudder when the politically correct ones say...we are all the same etc...etc..it is not true
If i walk into a bad neighborhood i'll keep an eye on my wallet and maybe take my watch off..
Does that mean that everyone's that lives in a bad neighborhood is a thief? Does it mean that i can only get robbed in the bad neighborhood and not in the "good one"?
No it doesn't ,but it doesn't also mean that they are equal.
