Hello all!
I unfortunately found this forum to late and made a purchase from a non TD. I got the old bait and switch for a Daytona with a functioning chronograph that looked real nice and the seller seemed decent with excellent feedback and customer service, then when it arrived it was a dhgate style piece of junk day date with a Daytona face.
I have since smartened up and ordered from chazing time and am looking forward to getting a good rep. Ordered a JF sec@9 with the black face and ss.

Hi Bro, welcome to RG.

Your story is not new here as many members have unfortunately learned lessons like you have. But now you are here so you have access to plenty of great info to help you learn more about watches and this hobby.

Chazingtime is a well respected TD so they will look after you very well. You have a very nice Daytona on the way so please share your pics and wristies once it arrives.

I noticed that. I have been lurking on here for a little while now and decided it was time to join and put up the obligatory hey look at me! I'm a dummy who didn't do quite enough research and got screwed post.
I'm looking forward to getting it, but I am still early in the process. I haven't even gotten QC pics yet, so i am a while away from getting it in my grubby little hands. After that I'm planning on a 6263 and a JF sec@6 black face SS.

Looks like you are into Daytonas! Great watches with a famous heritage, especially the 6263. However, the reps aren't always true to gen in size or sub-dial layout. There are some amazing looking frankens out there, especially by TheSociety, but prices can get a bit crazy as you get close to gen.
So read, learn, enjoy, and share what you have learned with the rest of us.

I absolutely do. I come from a racing background and my home track is lime rock park. When I was starting out with vintage racing all of my mentors wore Daytonas even though with modern timing systems it's redundant, and of course being at that track meant meeting and seeing Paul Newman every so often which was always a treat.
