Default Hello from Oregon Wine Country

I discovered this fascinating Rep world a couple of months ago, and I have been really surprised at its extent, its sources and resources, its enthusiasm, its dedication, and on and on. It is a whole world out there and a hobby that looks almost as addicting as my wine collection hobby! I have done a lot of reading on other forums and just joined this one to further educate myself.

I have jumped into the fray with an order for a Clean Factory DateJust with a rhodium dial and jubilee bracelet. I ended up choosing that watch and factory after reading as much as I could about the various factories producing the DJ, and discovering the then "best factory" (VSF) shut down. I was left primarily with GMF, ARF, and CF. GMF was badmouthed pretty badly from a quality to price standpoint on another forum. ARF was behind in production at the time and did not offer the newest clone movement. Clean had the newest clone decorated movement, an ARF jubilee bracelet, was closest to gen in thickness and did not seem to have too many negative comments or reviews. I was not looking for the cheapest version and was willing to pay the higher price....we'll see if that was a good move or not!

On tracking, the watch made it to Hong Kong , then to LA, and is now about to leave Whittier, California....so at least it now seems to be in the hands of the USPS. I approved the QC photos on 10/30; it arrived in Hong Kong on 11/5; left Hong Kong on 11/10; cleared LAX customs on 11/12; left LAX for USPS on 11/14; arrived in Whittier on 11/14; and is apparently scheduled to leave Whittier today...11/15... But it does not say where to....I can only hope that it is now bound for Oregon!

Looking forward to participating in this hobby and on this board.

Welcome to RG. Ahh the waiting game - I remember it well.

Hi ! Did you receive your DJ? Post us some photos. Clean is one of my favorite factories. ARF too. You can’t go wrong with either one.

Yes, I received my watch on November 19th. Its journey, as set forth above, continued from Whittier, CA to the tiny town of Sumner, Washington before finally being shipped to Oregon and to me! I love it...it keeps great time, winds perfectly and the reserve is at least 30 hours...probably longer as I had only wound it only once and then not very much. I left it at home when I went on vacation and it stopped about 30 hours after I put it down. I gave it a quick wind on my return and it has been running ever since. The dial, hands, cyclops, bezel and bracelet are exactly as advertised and as can be seen in many other CF DJ41 photos....no reason to post more here.

The only complaint I have about the watch is that the bracelet just barely fits my 7 & 1/4" wrist...and probably will not fit in warm, humid weather. I am told that is just the way it is....apparently you have to know this and ask for extra links if your wrist is bigger. Also I am told that the Oyster bracelet is about 1/4" longer than the Jubilee I ordered.

My only other complaint is that when I ordered it I was told the CF did not make a white dial in a DJ41 so I got my second choice...rhodium ,which is beautiful but still my second choice. Now I'm told CF is making the white dial....so I am thinking of ordering that and selling the grey dial. Overall....very satisfied.

Welcome! What a first post! I hadn't done nearly enough research and already ordered a few pieces - although from some of the most respected dealers on this site.

You also highlight the patience that's required for this hobby.

Appreciate your sharing your story. Enjoy the DJ in good health.
