Another brilliant and informative post, posh!!

Wore my mahina XL saturday and it was yummy. Putting it away for fall, though. I have it in black and the dark leather, dark interior, and overall heft of the bag make it seem much more of a fall/winter bag. And you are correct - the XXL is superhuge and very very heavy IRL. Tried one on at the boutique and even I felt silly carrying it (all 5'9" and xxx lbs of me).

I also have the paddington, safely nestled away in her sleeper awaiting the time that she will see the light of day again. Another HEAVY bag to carry due to that damn lock. No, I don't actually lock mine closed, but do still have that kettle bell hanging off of it just for show. It's not a paddington without it. I suppose it would make a nice cludgeon in the event a heavy, blunt weapon is ever needed.

I like the lockit very much, don't have one as I would love it in suhali and have yet to be satisfied with the quality of suhali reps I have seen.

Since you mentioned it but intentionally left her out, should I be embarassed to say that one of my favorite classic reps is the mono Alma? I certainly don't wear it every day, or even all that often as compared to my workhorses (mono luco tote, recently retired after 3+ years in favor of the damier neverfull). But it is a beautiful, elegant bag with a distinct shape and it really adds a nice touch to a classic, well-tailored suit. I use it on occassion during the day for certain events, but mainly for evening (but not formal or even semi-formal) dinners or other such business affairs. The trick with the Alma reps is finding one that is the right shape. Many tend to be way to boxy and squared-off in the "shoulders". I went through 2 before I found the one I was satisfied with.

    Thanks again, dear Posh!!!

Thank you so much, BH. I appreciate the words and glad this proved helpful if not entertaining. And w're almost the same height! Ha! My mom is 5'9" and my sister is 5'10" and I'm 5'8"! We should all get together so we can stand somewhere and pose. For charity, of course! We have so many pictures in our house of us posing like the Ralph Lauren girls:

Ya know, the Alma is a beautiful bag. It's an LV classic and a classic in general as a lot of people really love this bag. Every time they do a special edition in anything, they usually include the Alma, even that dreadfully trashy chic Miroir. I don't dislike it at all. I believe it's more structured than I need and I get what you mean about those "shoulders." The Lockit has an Alma-type feel but not the presence and that's what I like most about it.

The Alma will never go out of style and you're safe when carrying it from a citation from the Fashion Police.

And you're right, it's just a bag without that anchor of lock on it. LOL
